Big Brother Summer Spectacular
 

Something I made, and I thought I would turn it into my first thread and see your opinions on my work! hope you like this and criticise all you want, I only want to make things better and criticism will help improve :)
P.S: if this work looks like anybody else's, that wasn't my intention as I haven't actually had a look at every single eye on this section of the site, and if it is similar, I will delete the thread :)


THE EYE
I have chosen a summer themed eye to go with this project, mainly due to the fact that the summer aspect of the show will be very important in tasks. Because summer will be an important part, I have tried to encorparate different summer-styled things to the eye such as beach balls and sand. the eye will also be a big part of the graphics throughout the summer.

Firstly, welcome to the forum!

Secondly, it's a great attempt at a summery eye. I like the idea of it being a summer themed eye, especially when we have summer series. I'd say don't use a star in the centre, as it's more associated with CBB.

The first poster shows Emma Willis against a summer background with different colours coming through. The eye logo is very present and detectable on the poster and the launch date is shown on the middle right. In trying to be realistic with Channel 5s Marketing strategy, these posters show the launch date as 'Friday 9pm' and this shows channel 5s lack of promotion for their series :joker:

I like it, this is what BB needs, a fun/colourful eye like BB13, and a modern house with no real theme as such like BB13/16, just modern and funky. I think it's what the show needs, no more themes.

TITLE CARD

The Opening Screen for the show will look something like this. My reasoning for the colours is because the show this year is just about having fun. Not waiti for twists or secret rooms, it's about enjoying the experience of being in the big brother house. (A thing some people don't ever get the chance to do) and I think the title card shows that. I will also post the BOTS title card.

BOTS TITLE CARD

the title card for BOTS remains the same, the only difference is a smaller eye logo to fit the text onto the screen. Keeping the same background to keep the summer feel running throughout the title cards for the show.

The one thing I would say is that Big Brother doesn't need the name "Big Brother" for the main show anymore. The idea is good though.

HOUSE PLAN

the house plan has been drastically changed for this series. The living area has been made smaller in size, with less of an open plan house for the first time in a while. the kitchen will be a very small area, with room for a few housemates at a time. the store room will also be small and will be hard for housemates to store some food.

There is now a hallway in between the living room and the bedroom, which could serve as a good place for the housemates to have a chat. however, some of the walls can change colours, so could confuse housemates.

The bedroom is very big, and it will have a circular bath in the middle, so in case a housemate wants a bath late at night, they will have to bathe in front of the other housemates. The bathroom has dramastically reduced in size, due to the bath in the bedroom. The toilet will be in the bathroom, and their will not be a camera.

Two doors connect the garden to the house. You can get to the garden from the bedroom or the kitchen. The garden is very spacious this season to keep the theme of sun and summer running. The spacious area will be used as the small and large task rooms, and the size of the garden will make the housemates enjoy the summer more.

The diary room is just off the living area, and has a small hallway between the doors.

Ah, now I can give you full feedback on the House. Unfortunately the plan is one that could never work at the Elstree compound that Big Brother has. The exit is at the completely opposite side of the House which would mean a huge amount of work for the exterior stage and interior.

The living area is right up against the main exterior wall, and blocks a the camera run. This would be unrealistic because the living area would be able to hear everything from outside as well as camera men not being able to get around the House to film.

As for your locations of the garden, kitchen and bedroom... it would never work. Your garden stretches into the front part of the House with the slanted roof, and that is an impossible task to create part of the garden in. The bedroom is huge and wouldn't need to be that big! I'm hoping this gives you good feedback. I'm not saying "it's rubbish" - I'm saying it needs work and that's how you could improve it.

I had a feeling it wasn't gonna work - but hank you for the feedback, that is something I will try to improve :)

LIVE CORNER GRAPHIC

the next thing I'm going to post is the 'live' graphic in the corner. the is partly inspired by the current channel 5 'live' graphic, however, I have used elements from the eye in the graphic.

TIMESTAMP GRAPHIC

the TIMESTAMP will now be in the corner of the screen and will slowly dissolve off the screen. I have moved it to the corner so that I doesn't block or take up to much room at the bottom of the screen but can be used in a small area at the top.

EVICTION NUMBER GRAPHIC

On eviction nights, during highlights section their will be the numbers of the housemates popping up. After viewing this image for the second time, I have decided to change the font colour to black as white on yellow doesn't work.

EVICTION NUMBER GRAPHIC (AFTER CREDITS)

this graphic will be shown during the credits of an episode, and will be voiced over by marcus. I have decided to use a sand background to keep the summer feel.

END CREDITS SCROLL

the end credits scroll will have a sand background to show the summer feel. the middle section of the eye logo will appear in the corner with a little box moving down that will A. have the text 'Use #BBUK to tweet your opinions on tonight's show' and B. Marcus will narrate the top events that will happen on the next nights show.

The first eviction number graphic doesn't work.

You can barely see the white text on that pale yellow.

Yeah, I put in the little caption that upon viewing this image again, I would change the white to black :)

Love it,just the spelling,but that never matters.

Also, eviction numbers after credits could be washed away with water as its on sand!
