Aren't charity donations meant to be a private thing?

Very vulgar of criminal chloe to broadcast the fact that she donated 21 grand to Macmillan Cancer.

Why does anyone need to know that?

Pete. 21-07-2015 12:04 PM

But when does donating to charity make you a bad person? Chloe is a nice girl not a manipulative villain that many try to make her out to be.

'Criminal Chloe' is so criminal that she's donating money to charity. Shocking

Tarryn 21-07-2015 12:24 PM

I was not a Chloe fan but maybe she is shaming a lot of far richer people into giving something to charity.
Look at the mega millionaires that give nothing or such a small amount to ease their conscience. That's quite a chunk out of Chloe's winnings.
She should be proud that she has done this.
I'm on a low wage but regularly give to charity, I'm proud to do this.
What's wrong with that

RichardG 21-07-2015 12:29 PM

I don't like Chloe but I can't criticise anyone for donating £20,000 to charity, publicly or not...

There is nothing wrong with doing it,and we don't know what richer people give to charities because they do not shout it from the rooftops,if you are going to give to charity ,that's fine, but do the world and it's wife have to know.I don't know what gives people the impression Chloe is short of money:laugh::laugh:

Jake. 21-07-2015 12:38 PM

I'd rather someone give and brag about it than not give at all

bots 21-07-2015 12:41 PM

giving to charity doesn't make someone a nice person

Why not just give and don't brag.

True but if it helps people who really need it then I doubt they care where the money came from.

mrflibble 21-07-2015 12:44 PM

Maybe to also raise awareness for the charity? I mean, obviously it's partly for a pat on the back but at the same time, it could encourage others to donate or pay attention to the charity..

Livia 21-07-2015 12:51 PM

Private but not secret. Someone asked her about it... she answered.

Pete. 21-07-2015 12:52 PM

I can't believe the reaching to try and make Chloe out to be a bad person

MB. 21-07-2015 12:53 PM

She was asked in several interviews what she planned to do what the money, and that's what she plans to do with it :umm2:

I wonder if you thought the same of Sam giving some of his money to charity, or anyone else who's done a fairly nice thing with it.

I know. And it's always from the same people. Ala the OP, who's still doing it almost a week after her win. And is pretty much the only one who always brings up her "criminal" history, which isn't even criminal.

Obsessed or what? :umm2:

Tarryn 21-07-2015 12:58 PM

SOME people on here clearly care more about hating someone than a charity getting much needed money.
It always shocks me how petty & nasty some people are.

Niamh. 21-07-2015 12:59 PM

fgs

Well done to her

Didn't Craig donate all his winnings to a cancer charity for a little girl? I wasn't watching BB back then but Jesus how could someone call anyone who wants to donate money to a worthy charity vulgar. I don't see where you are coming from TS

Yeah if anyone wants to then there's definitely more valid reasons to criticise housemates on here than their methods of donating to charity.

If I were you I would seek some medical attention. There may be a cure for obsessive hatred.

this lmao

People asked, she answered

Are people really trying to make her seem like she's bad because she said she donated to charity? £21,000 is (to me, to her, and a lot of other people) a lot of money, and she donated it to charity. I don't see why that's a bad thing

Daniel-X 21-07-2015 01:11 PM

I'm no Chloe fan but there is nothing wrong with this at all. I would do the same if I'd donated such a large amount of money. Don't grasp at straws it's not a nice trait

There is nothing wrong at all in her giving to charity but c'mon lets face it had Helen done the same the comments on here would be more than nasty.

reece(: 21-07-2015 01:27 PM

The desperation continues, this smear campaign is so sad. If she's asked a question of course she'll answer it, END.

Well I would have said it was about time she did something nice & better money spent than on breast implants.
Would you have slated Helen as much if she had shouted it from the rooftops ?.

reece(: 21-07-2015 01:34 PM

And why does the agenda always have to go back to Helen???:sleep:

Not Sam selling his charity for some £££ :joker:

(that's a slightly less nice thing to do)

bots 21-07-2015 01:41 PM

i honestly don't care what she does with her money, it won't change my impression of her. There are plenty celebs make a habit of saying how much the do for charity, it didn't make me change my impression of them either.

Craig, the BB 1 winner gave his winnings away, yes. Again, it was his money to do with as he wished.

Amy Jade 21-07-2015 01:58 PM

How is she vile for giving to charity? I swear some people really are horrible if they begrudge her giving money to such an amazing charity, she never even bragged about it, she told people who ASKED how she spent her winnings.

No idea why Helen is being brought into this either. Obsession?

Amy Jade 21-07-2015 02:01 PM

Kazanne when Sam won and gave some of his winnings to charity and spoke openly about it and you praised him, why are you now slagging off Chloe? is that not hypocritical of you?

No way people would appreciate her for giving away money but people still have their opinions on her as a housemate and giving money to charity does not wash away her 2 appearances

vafunghoul 21-07-2015 02:03 PM

Cannot blame her. Perhaps she's doing this so more people can piggy back and also donate to that charity?

I can understand a celebrity who's had bad press doing this for positive PR and getting questioned but Chloe was genuinely shocked that she won. I don't see her as an attention grabber.

Ashley. 21-07-2015 02:04 PM

Shame on Chloe for donating to charity :fist:

Gillian-73 21-07-2015 02:54 PM

Having a lot to do with MacMillan over the last year, I thank anyone who gives money to them. Whether they keep it quiet or tell the world!!

Lmao no, I'm sure if Helen donated money to charity people would have a little bit more respect for her than before.

y.winter 21-07-2015 03:42 PM

Winning BB without an awful reputation like Helen, I don't think she needs it for some popularity/raiting thing.

"I'm definitely going to give some money to Macmillan Cancer Support – a charity that's close to my granddad's heart and something that my family has supported for such a long time"
No need to be cynical over it, the subject is definitely close to her heart and this is her way to thank the charity for (probably) helping a sick relative. Purely innocent.

Truth

ThriceShy 21-07-2015 04:48 PM

It has always been considered vulgar to boast about donating to charity. There can be no other motive than making yourself look good.

There is that famous old line "I do a lot for charity but I don't like to talk about it"

There is nothing wrong with donating to charity but Chloe telling us she has done it has sent her down in my estimation rather than up.
