Can we have a man out first please

Sick of it

Niamh. 23-08-2015 01:59 PM

Jarvio  One of these days it'll happen and then what will you do? :fan:

Jarvio 23-08-2015 02:00 PM

It already has happened. But not enough times. Plus, never, on the civilian series. Simon doesn't count because they ruined it by putting him back in.

Niamh. 23-08-2015 02:01 PM

he wasn't voted out either

Liam- 23-08-2015 02:06 PM

Why?

Jarvio 23-08-2015 02:09 PM

Cos I'm sick of the same old ****

LukeB 23-08-2015 02:10 PM

Girls always going first is boring now tbh

Pete. 23-08-2015 02:17 PM

We got David out first!

Pete. 23-08-2015 02:17 PM

But yes the women are always more entertaining yet they go out very early

Lostie! 23-08-2015 02:17 PM

Are you referring to CBB or civilian? Because the "female always leaves first" trend doesn't apply to CBB.

David McIntosh, Andrew Stone, Chris Eubank, Goldie. The only 4 men that have ever been out first via public vote.

(Not counting John McRirick, as that was UBB).

As I said - not many, and not enough.

Ashley. 23-08-2015 03:02 PM

Bobby Davro will be first out, depending on how this "twist" goes down. He'll annoy everyone.

Here for an all-female-winning 2015 tbh

A man shouldn't leave first simply because he's a man.

Marsh. 23-08-2015 04:14 PM

The "women always out first curse" has never applied to CBB anyway.

 Why not enough? What actual difference does it make?

As long as the first housemate out is either a bore or a housemate I don't like, I don't care whether they're male or female.

^^
It's whoever is entertaining, it sounds like people would want a big male personality out instead of a boring woman, just so a woman isn't out first, just get rid of the bores (It's VTS so it's likely the big characters will go far anyway)

So you're telling me that 4 male first evictees out of FIFTEEN has nothing to do with gender?
I'm sorry, but gender does have something to do with it. Males are ALWAYS at an advantage. It has little to do with the "character".

If it has nothing to do with gender, then how the hell has a woman gone first EVERY time on civilian BB? For over 15 ****ing years?

It's sexist, but people on here are too afraid to admit it.

Liam- 23-08-2015 05:02 PM

It's not even on-season yet

Shaun 23-08-2015 05:27 PM

gotta love the "he'll be dull!!" posts before the series has even started

The case for the 'curse' is that women are either the only people up for eviction or that they're too controversial and outspeak the boring males (just an observation, but a lot of the females are bigger characters than the males, who tend to be on the boring side)

For the past two years, it's only ever been women up for the first eviction (also BB1, BB2, and BB8), so it was pretty much default that a woman would be evicted first
As I said previously, the only other reason I can think of is the fact that they're too big of characters, which people really don't like (it'd be interesting to see the voting percentages for Dexter, Gina, and Sallie, considering they were all big characters that clashed in that first week)

If we went back to VTS in the Civillian series, then maybe we'd see a boring male go over a big female character. Women like Sallie and Adjoa (I don't understand what she did that warranted boos, besides talking about 'pussy') are far more remembered than the rest of their housemates, meanwhile the men are easily forgot about (and the men that actually do something are evicted asap, e.g. Marc)

I don't understand a lot of the public's choices (Helen winning, for example), but I doubt that the public decide to pick up the phone because someone's a woman.

And actively wanting a male out first (before the series has even started) solely on the basis that he's a male isn't?

Yes, but for 1 I admit it, and for 2, I'm only being sexist as a result of sexism in the first place. It's called countering.

LaLaLand 23-08-2015 06:49 PM

Not here 4 Davro hate, man's a legend.

That's why though because they provoke more of a reaction, that's a good thing

I'm good at predicting. They don't call me "Ashley, That Girl Who Is Good At Predicting" for nothing

Calderyon 23-08-2015 08:31 PM

Can we have a bad housemate out first, regardless of itīs a male or a female?

Jarvio 23-08-2015 08:38 PM

There have been many male HMs than have been "bigger characters" than many female HMs (and vice-versa). There have also been many male HMs that have been "bigger bores" than many female HMs (and vice-versa). My point is, there is no correlation between gender and HM quality.

Yet, somehow, a woman has gone first nearly every time. In over 15 years. Yes, I stick by what I said - it's sexist.
