What TV shows needs axing

^

X-Factor (A break would do)
Summer CBB(one CBB is enough for one year)
Don't Tell The Bride (predicable)
I'm a celebrity

MB. 26-09-2015 07:27 PM

I'm a Celebrity and X Factor

Will. 26-09-2015 07:28 PM

IAC, TOWIE and XF

Dollface 26-09-2015 07:29 PM

X factor 100%

Eastenders

JoshBB 26-09-2015 07:40 PM

I'm A Celeb needs complete re-doing, we've seen enough of the same thing.

As long as shows I watch aren't axed, I don't care. It's a bit pointless wanting a show you don't watch axed.

Usually I agree with this, but since this thread is just a good excuse for me to list the shows I have no time for...

I'm a Celebrity
TOWIE
Made in Chelsea
Geordie Shore
Ex on the Beach

Jason. 26-09-2015 08:20 PM

I still enjoy I'm A Celebrity :worry:

I just think it needs a massive re-vamp as it's been the same show for almost a decade now. Like look how much BB has changed since 2006 (admittedly for the worse but still) and look how much IAC has changed since 2006 - nothing.

EspeonBB 26-09-2015 08:27 PM

They're not going to axe I'm a Celeb when it still gets such high ratings (only Great British Bake Off and Strictly are bigger) :joker:

IAC (needs an all stars then axing tbh it's the same old same old)
Through the keyhole (it bothers me that a show as dire as this takes up prime time Saturday night TV)
The voice (All four series have been quite poor with dreadful winners none of which have gone on to have a good career, neither have any of the contestants who haven't won tbh not heard of one apart from Queen Becky Hill)

Firewire 26-09-2015 09:58 PM

Losing > The Beatles

and that's a fact

Ashley. 26-09-2015 10:00 PM

I want to say Doctor Who but it would feel like a betrayal

Becky has such a good voice  she's by FAR my favourite voice contestant out of the four series of the show.

Saying that there's bit much choice is there though... :umm2:

Locke. 26-09-2015 11:06 PM

All reality TV except for X Factor

I feel the same.

If I don't like a show (Strictly Come Dancing) I don't watch it, but having said that I wouldn't want it axed because I know many others love the show.

Why would I want to upset all those fans just because I don't like a show?

To answer the OP I would say a show that no longer brings in the viewers could be potentially axed and even in those cases maybe it's more about rescheduling over getting rid altogether.

LukeB 27-09-2015 12:03 AM

it's about shows that you feel has gone past it sell by date because the shows i have listed are getting rather boring.. yes i watch them but it's a habit and something to watch...

Ah well, you should have said!

Show's I've enjoyed that feel like they're going round in circles or quite frankly bore me, then here are a few that I can think of right now.

I'm a Celebrity
The X Factor
Britain's Got Talent
Eastenders
Jeremy Kyle

I still watch some of them probably out of habit too, but what I should do is take a break myself and come back after a few years to see if they've improved.

I would add Waterloo Rd, but I believe it did end up getting axed, Bad Girls was another that went on too long.

LukeB 27-09-2015 12:13 AM

omg yes Jeremy Kyle needs axing.. embarrassing show... I never see someone who dresses nicely and have good teeth on the show..

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 27-09-2015 12:17 AM

Scandal
life in marbs
real housewives of cheshire
the wright stuff. Can't stand how he talks over everyone, especially women.
The big bang theory.

It truly is embarrassing and it seems like some really weird stuff that people need advice on. Why anyone wants to embarrass themselves in this way I'll never understand.

I watched up to the end of season two and only stopped watching because there were other shows grabbing at me. I really want to go back and watch season three.

How far did you get with the show before you started find it unworthy or a bore?

Mystic Mock 27-09-2015 12:24 AM

I'm not normally into wanting other peoples shows to be cancelled.

However these are the shows that I feel have lasted way too long and there's no way to really repair them imo which is a shame as they could've been iconic shows if they'd just ended sooner.

The X Factor
The Big Bang Theory
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
Doctor Who
Homeland

That's about it as far as I'm aware of for me.

Mystic Mock 27-09-2015 12:31 AM

Oh and as much as I love the show I am worried that five seasons of Bates Motel might be too much.

GLENN BILL BB7 27-09-2015 12:35 AM

The X Factor as the winner never even makes songs anyway so its pointless, Just ****ty sob stories.

Made in Chelsea, Fake and gay.

Doctor who as it got ****e after the best companion ever!!! Rose Tyler left.

I wondered that earlier in the year when they announce it was ending after five, but since then I've kinda talked myself round into thinking they can still do the series justice with five seasons.

I thought the last season of Homeland was its best. I didn't realise they had totally changed the show around from the fist season that I gave up on it in season 3. It was only later when a friend told me to go back that I found it to be much more than what it had been.

Oh I am still watching it and I am obsessed with it but I am also frustrated with it because season 3 and 4 was such melodramatic Bs and lost the essence of what scandal was about. Season 3 and 4a was basically turned into a spy show, turning the main couple into a volatile relationship and villains and ridiculous plots like having to send soldiers to war to save Olivia. But yesterday's episode was decent it looks like they want to get back on track but there is a hill to climb.

Thanks for this. I'm still planning on going back.

I don't mind ridiculous plots, but then again it might be a different when I'm watching it. :D

Thanks again.

Oh it looked better than season 2 and season 3 imo, it's just that I have a policy that if a show butchers itself badly in two of it's first three seasons then I'm out.

Shaun 27-09-2015 03:26 AM

There's plenty I dislike but I'll just list the shows that're really dated and tired and the same old trodden-out dung for years now

- I'm a Celeb... (this got boring in 2008)
- Gogglebox (never liked it but surely the appeal has worn off and they're just fame-hungry try hards now?)
- Bit on the Side (it's difficult enough feigning an interest in the main show lately, this is too much)
- Deal Or No Deal (so so so so so so so old)
- Take Me Out (let the show see the axe!!!!)

Stateside:
- obviously the Simpsons fifteen years ago
- Family Guy five years ago
- The Big Bang Theory when it was conceptualised

Modern Family is kinda nearing this territory too... and American Horror Story should've at least let the gap between series 2 and 3 be a hiatus to work on the actual Story part.

...yeah, this really...axing a show will mean people are without income ...their children will have no food..relationships may be destroyed...everything disintegrates...worlds fall apart..and because WE ARE NOT ENTERTAINED AND YA'LL NEED TO LEAVE OUR SCREEN...

...maybe overthinking it...

..a bit..

..tad..

Amy Jade 27-09-2015 07:46 AM

None really, if I feel a show has gone off the boil I just stop watching and leave it for people who still enjoy it to carry on. I hate it when shows I really enjoy get cancelled (Tru Calling, Privilidged, The Carrie Diaries, Melrose Place)

I wish a few would shake up the format though and improve to become as good as they used to be...

ANTM
IAC...GMOH
Big Brother
The X Factor

..I don't know if you've ever seen it Amy but it would be my TV heaven if Dawson's Creek came back and followed their lives as they got older...
