Anyone know anything about CATS ?
Does anyone here know much about cats? reason I'm asking is our beloved Sally seems to have just disappeared today, she is an old girl but always, always without fail comes for her food as soon as we let the dogs out in the mornings.she LOVED her grub and her good morning cuddles, the neighbour said he saw her early this morning, but there has been no sign since, which is worrying as she is always about and never goes off,Does anyone have a clue as to why she would just disappear. :-(

Our cat had dementia and forgot where we lived?

Is she chipped Kazanne? Ring the RSPCA and ask if any accidents involving cats locally have been reported if she is.

Sometimes they can wander into areas like sheds and accidentally get shut in, could be worth knocking on a few neighbours doors and asking. Cats no matter what age do occasionally take off for a few days or longer then return as if nothing has happened whilst their owners have been pulling their hair out with worry. Don't let yourself get disheartened Kaz, hope she returns soon.

she is either at someones house getting petted and some food, just gone a bit further afield or been run over
3 most likely scenarios the last one being the most unlikely but best to steel yourself |

I could never have an outdoor cat, it would worry me too much :worry:
|
Thanks guys,I am trying to stay positive, We have checked the garden ,checked the neighbours, but I will ring the vets tomorrow ,see if anything has been reported, I am just worried as she is so old and fragile, hopefully she will just turn up out of the blue,I don't think she's been run over LT as we would have heard I'm sure.

My mom has an outdoor cat and she often disappears for a day or so and comes back again. Don't panic just yet! My own cat is indoor so I don't have to worry so much!
|
I always worry when my cat doesn't come when I open the door to get him in but I just leave the door or window open for a while and rattle his food tray and he soon shows up.
|
All of my cats are outdoor cats, but the one of them is always disappearing, he spends days on end out and about, then he pops home every now and then to eat and spend the night in with the others, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, she's probably just trotted off somewhere a bit further to have a nose at something, I hope she comes back soon
|
Worrying Kaz my friend walks around the nearby streets shaking his food bowl when he goes AWOL, he always returns, fingers crossed

Cats often leave off their own accord, especially when they're older. They aren't like dogs, they don't get as attached to their owners and less so with age. The best thing is to let her go and enjoy the wild and if she wants to come back then she will.
|
how long has she been missing for? I wouldnt worry if its less than a day!

She could have someone else feeding her, found a friend, sometimes they go away to have kittens and...
Sorry to add this but cats are also known to disappear to pass away, if I was you I would try rattling her food/dish see if she appears. |

Even though she's old, Im sure she knows what she's doing. Just keep shouting and maybe go walk around with food and she might come to you! Good luck! |

They are known to go away to die but I wouldn't get too worried unless they don't appear for longer than 24 hours, they're pretty resilient animals as well |
I don't have a cat now Kaz, but did have for years and I can only reiterate what others are saying. One of mine was a right twot for going missing for days on end but she did always come back. Here's hoping that yours does Kaz.
|
My Cat did this a few years ago, he was missing for nearly a whole week, but we ended up finding him in one of our neighbours Car sleeping in the backseat, so consider checking that out.
Cats tend to sometimes get trapped in Sheds, or someone might've took her in because they might've thought that she was a stray. And here's a website to do with lost Cat behaviour which you might want to read. http://www.missingpetpartnership.org...-cat-behavior/ |
Any news Kaz?

Hi Kaz, i hope your cat's turned up, my neighbours cat went missing for 3 days, she was beside herself, then the naughty little cat just strolled back in as if nothing had happened:nono:
My dad had an old cat, he was 17, and one day he just went off and never came back, it still upsets me now when i think about it, his name was Smudge, i really hope your cat comes back soon:hug: |
Well I have just left the back door open while the dogs were out, this is the time we usually see her,but there is nothing,I am worried as although she ate loads she was very thin ,I don't think she could take not eating for long, but I'll be off to work soon,so fingers crossed by the time I get back at dinnertime she'll be home,I will leave her some food out in the hope she will want it.
