What words annoy you for no reason?

Not like swear words or anything obviously offensive, but just everyday words that really bug you?

Mine is 'Plethora'. I don't know why, I've just always hated the way it sounds! If you say it really fast it's like you're trying to spit out a fly or something

Niamh. 04-11-2015 11:08 AM

succinct/succinctly, I don't know why but it bothers me  Also, hate the word awesome because it's so over used these days and doesn't actually mean what it meant when I was younger anymore

Crimson Dynamo 04-11-2015 11:10 AM

poorly and trod

I don't mind poorly if it's used like "he chose poorly" but it annoys me when people use it to say someone is sick

Crimson Dynamo 04-11-2015 11:14 AM

also

"up dog"

Niamh. 04-11-2015 11:16 AM

That reminds me - 'specific', when people mispronounce it as 'pacific'

And 'Uber', like when people say they're uber hungry or something. NO! You're just hungry :fist:

There aren't any that annoy me for "no reason", obviously there's a reason they annoy me.

Most words within the gay community gross me out actually. The whole 'daddy' thing (obviously not exclusive to gays but still) is just really disturbing, as are 'bussy' and 'cummies'. Oh and whatever a creampie is, I don't want to know. And 'breeding' in reference to porn. :umm2:

For the PG answers I'd say whatever's overused on here t'core, or whatever's used in the news to gloss over actual factual reporting (sources suggest).
