Big changes to BB 2016 according to Frow
He was a speaker today.
Ben Frow the c5 controller said Big Brother is going to be very different to normal and that he will be taking a long look into it. I don't believe it but what could 'big changes' be? I know they have ditched a few producers, and Ben has constantly spoken about his disappointment with BB civilian in the last year. |
Didn't he say that last year and all of the changes he made this year were the wrong changes?
He always seems to have a very different idea as to what the show needs to the audience. |
I can sum up what the show needs in a few words but they're nevah gonna do it.
get back to basics. Here for them bringing back the chickens. BB1 style. |
They need to stop pulling dumb stunts and twists to protect their chosen ones who bring drams (e.g Marq/Hell)

Please do not make it a US style BB as I won't watch.
This Frow guy always says things like this and the following series turns out to be just as dire or even worse than the one before :idc:
The only change most people want is returning to how it originally was. I don't think anything was actually wrong with the last series until they messed it up with horrible twists and giving all the spotlight to ex housemates.
I won't judge until I see it on screen.
Didn't he say that last time?
Stop with the twists and manipulating |
I agree with not using twists to save people. I'll be angry for a few seconds once my favourite goes but it ruins the series when they manipulate who stays in. I'd rather someone who I thought was making the series went fairly rather than stayed because it was an unfair game.
Last civilian it seemed like they weren't manipulating or doing weird twists and then 4in4 out happened and the series became trashy. If they had Marc in from the beginning it could of worked. |
big changes my ass
Different to last year or different to every year?
I think it'll actually happen this time tbh. With Denis O'Connor departing as the Creative Director this could be an opportunity to actually fix what is currently wrong with Big Brother on Channel 5 and regain the fans trust. If he does not succeed in this, I don't think it'll be around for much longer.
Plus, I think that it's good that Frow can acknowledge that there are problems with Big Brother at the moment that need fixing, as opposed to C5's old controller Jeff Ford who shrugged off any suggestions that Big Brother was broken.

And no last year he said the cast was wrong, he hasn't said "big changes" before but I'm not gonna get my hopes up or just slate him down for it either, I just hope this time the big change works since BB17 will be the last shot for normal BB. And as people in here have said its not even the cast its the manipulation and twists that messes up the show. |

Probably even more moving away from the original premise on the show.
People sau they want it like bb1 but it'd flop even more. The current audience won't want to see chickens. But I want stricter rules and feed.
Not BB1 no. But like BB7 (more housemates/more twists is what C5 seem to aim for so it's more realistic than a BB5 and BB6).
To be fair the last time Frow changed things, we got Emma and the Secrets and Lies series. **** came into play after that but the initial series where all the twists started was brilliant IMO.
If they're not going to go back to basics, just cancel the show.
I don't believe they could pull off a BBUS format. Without their 'voice' (aka their vote) in the show, I don't think UK viewers will care about it. |

But they can still bring back all of the rules and formats of BB1. We'll still have the housemates we do now and everything else BB entails that means it can't be like in 2000 (I don't think anyone would want it exactly like that again in 2015) but the format is in desperate need of being simple and consistent. |
If it's the USA format I'm done.
Vote to Save back please
Maybe there'll be two secret rooms instead of one

In theory they should not do twists to save housemates. However BB so called fans only have themselves to blame. Time after time they vote out the most entertaining too early and in effect kill the series. The producers desperately try to overcome the sabotage of the viewers......and of course mess up like the voting viewers do. What's the answer. Simple but impossible! The producers and the viewers need to grow up..........It will never happen. So we will just have to keep on moaning about each other until the Channel pulls the plug on the show after being pig sick of trying to beat the odds of the sabotaging so called BB fans...... |
There's a lot they need to change but if they don't take a break then I don't see how they could ever recover the lost audience even if they make the show amazing, at least not civilian BB anyway. I can't see respectable numbers tuning in next summer regardless of what they do. If they take a break then the launch should rate higher and they'll at least have a shot at showcasing how different it is and retaining a higher audience.
^All that assuming they make big changes for the better anyway which we all know would never happen, they'll just drag the show down even further like they always do. |
The only thing they can do is go back and have a look ehat they did on big brother secrets and lies cause thats the only decent series's they've produced.
They really ought to bring back the old selection process so they can figure out who would actually be good in the house. Have the house full of big personalities instead or just one or two, that way you don't need to worry about the ones bringing drama going first. Also stop the whole 'single storyline' thing.. we want a recall of the days events, not "how does the marc plot continue tonight???"
The dancing girls with feathers made a return so i'm not very optimistic about these "big changes" :fist:
Tbh if there's any changes they're probably going to be the civilian series. The celebrity series' are usually amazing anyway and don't need changing.
Is one of these "big changes" dropping the break outro and playing the intro instead? What a dramatic change!
itv.

I wonder if frow has actually read a forum or even polled his viewers

The show dancers and messy boxes were a massive change to the norm!
