We used to have one but it got taken off the air. It had 2 seasons :bawling:

I think Phil Keoghan should host this.

Even if he is from New Zealand.

We had a Survivor, but it was cancelled after 3 seasons. Then it was brought back on 2013, had decent ratings, but we have not heard from it since. Meaning it returning is very unlikely.

Our players were usually very honest and the boots were mainly on who people disliked, not in a game/strategic sense.

Just seen it on Facebook, was gonna post but you beat me to it haha.

God i would so love to be on survivor!

THE tribe at Network Ten has spoken: Jonathan LaPaglia has been named as the host of upcoming big-budget reality series Australian Survivor.

The Aussie actor, best known for his roles in TV series including Love Child and The Slap, will be seen by many as a surprising choice for the network. Not only is this his first hosting gig, but his name hasn’t once appeared during the months of speculation about who would take on the coveted role.

Yes not here for them.. they are good don't get me wrong but seeing them all the time is getting really annoying. Like take a 5 year break or something

There's no way Ant and Dec would agree to spend seven weeks abroad filming :laugh: that's nearly double what they do for IAC

They also wouldn't fit the role, I guess it would depend on the network who got it really but if any ITV big name was to get it I'd imagine it'd be Dermot

The BBC should pick it up as an eventual replacement for The Apprentice tbh

I'm getting pretty hyped, even with the the likelihood it's gonna be a more drawn-out series. I like the producers other programs, and I can't help but get excited about this.

I'm so jealous that Australia are being gifted this, why oh why won't a UK network give it another shot and throw as much money at it as they are

Production is currently underway in Samoa for Network Ten’s adaptation of Survivor, and last week, the show’s Executive Producer Stephen Tate divulged some details of what to expect from the new series. Tate is also the Head of Entertainment and Factual Programming for Network Ten, and over the years has produced series such as Australian Idol, Big Brother, and MasterChef Austrailia.

Speaking to MCN.com, Tate revealed that the major difference between the Australian cast, compared to their international counterparts, is that they put much more value into “mateship.” While we are used to backstabbing and deception on American Survivor, Tate stated that some of the Aussie cast members “…are genuinely conflicted when it comes to voting out a mate.” Even though that might suggest a less compelling show to an American audience, Tate believes that it gives Australian Survivor “a lot of depth and heart.”

That’s not to say Australian Survivor is going to be all flowers and rainbows. “They are tough and funny and just as competitive as any international Survivor cast,” Tate said, with “…a few scoundrels thrown in for good measure.” Regarding what they have filmed so far, Tate said to expect: “Spectacular challenges with nail-biting finishes, camp sites washed away by king tides, alliances tested, brilliant blind sides at tribal council, and the discovery of secret immunity idols.” That sounds like all the ingredients of a great Survivor season. It even has what Tate described as “the Holy Grail” – a budding romance.

Over 15,000 people applied to be on the new series, with 24 making the official cast – which Tate said is a “diverse group aged from 22 to 62.” The season is filming in a remote area of Samoa, which Tate described as “breathtaking,” and will last for 55 days. Aussie actor Jonathan LaPaglia will host the show.

An official air-date has yet to be announced.
