At work in the kitchen. It was his first day and I was asking him lots of questions and he was asking me about the office and the like

Eventually he said "so how long have you worked here?

and I said "I started yesterday"

we laughed and we have been laughing ever since

Yeah I would say I have two "best" friends, one of them I would have considered my BFF when I was in school but as the years went on I seem to be better friends with the other girl

Burnt starring Bradley Cooper?

Marsh. 20-11-2015 02:16 PM

I met mine in school but we've drifted apart in recent years so now I don't have a "best".

And I find the term "best mate" quite childish anyway. :idc:

Edit - Well, actually I had another who moved in around the corner and we're still in contact but not on the level of "best" anymore either.

Samm 20-11-2015 02:16 PM

At School, we didn't really know each other till about year 9/10.

Speaking of that film, that looks like the worst storyline ever

I don't know, about this couple trying to get their Michelin stars back or something but the trailer I saw was kind of trying to sell it as an action movie

I've got a few really, I met one when I was 1, I don't quite remember how that one started, but in a way I can't remember life without her.

Another one was at school, we'd been friends for about 3 years and then she joined my ict class then she couldn't get rid of me!

One of them I met in a virtual BB house, really odd how that happened, but we formed a real bond, I stay at his house for a week or so every now and again, people moan about how sad these games are, but I've made a friend for life from one!

Another I don't remember so x

Don't have a best friend

I've met all my "friends" at school and college.

Jessica. 20-11-2015 02:34 PM

I don't have a best friend but the person I was closest to throughout school, I met when I was three, I guess, then when I got depressed when I was 17, I blocked her out, along with everyone else, we still chat sometimes on Facebook though, it's not completely dead. :joker:

Natalie. 20-11-2015 02:35 PM

Met my oldest close friend in primary school

Same here. Depression wrecked some relationships.

Shaun 20-11-2015 02:42 PM

One at school, the other was dating one of my other friends and I sort of fancied her myself but we ended up stabbing beyonce (ok I typed stanning so why autocorrect it to that?) and that kinda killed the attraction and started the friendship.

Probably talk more to some on here than those 2 now bc of moving away, work, etc

 Is this true? It's an excellent story if it is.

kirklancaster 20-11-2015 02:48 PM

I actually met my oldest 'Best Friend' at school and we became Best Friends after I narrowly lost an after school punch-up with him  We do not live in each other's pocket, but have remained firm friends for decades and he visits 4 or 5 times a year.

Yes. back in 1990 - we started at the same company (advertising) I met all my best 4 pals there and we still go on holiday together every year to play golf (we first went 1991)

This was also the company that a girl said to me "Oh you must meet ex-Mrs LT as she likes football" and went and got her. When she brought her to my desk (:umm2:) I said what team do you support and she said Tottenham and I said  "oh I was told you liked football"

Golden banter that, pure gold bants

No wonder 1 month later I was riding her like a Blackpool donkey

Window shopping in Amsterdam more like.

I met my best friend through a guy I was friends with and she started going out with him. We didn't like each other at first at all...she was jealous of my friendship with her boyfriend and I didn't like her as she was a stranger lol. We had both arranged to meet the boy one day but he didn't turn up so we begrudgingly started talking to each other, she turned up at my house that night and barely left after that and now nearly 25 years on she is still the best friend I would ever want
