What's your favourite part of Christmas day?

I think mine is after the meal when everyone sits down and watches TV.

When the whole family sing an Xmassy song for me individually and I decide which ones I liked the most to allow them to live for the New Year and which ones I send to execution.

As much as I love my parents, my favourite part of Christmas Day is when they've gone back home after dinner and I can spend the rest of the day collapsed in front of the telly with some nice wine and some exotic smoking mixture.

Is there room for a little one?:grin2:

kirklancaster 23-12-2015 07:33 AM

In all honesty - Simply seeing all my loved ones together, safe and well and happy.

rubymoo 23-12-2015 07:34 AM

My favourite part of Christmas day, is watching The Snowman after dinner with the tub of Quality Street on my knee!

Also i enjoy Christmas tea which is cheese and biscuits with grapes and a nice glass of red wine:flutter:

AnnieK 23-12-2015 07:41 AM

My favourite part is seeing the look on my little boys face when he comes down to see if Father Christmas has been - if I could bottle that feeling I would be set forever (plus it makes up for the fact that he has been an over-excited nightmare for the past 3 weeks and makes it all worth it )

Awww i remember when my 2 were like that, they're now 14, but they still get excited when they see their pressies.

It's great to see them when they're little and they get a toy they really wanted, watching their little faces light up:flutter:

Mine will be stopping up til midnight in the hope that we all can then get a goodnights sleep, the problem is that it's me that's up at 4 in the morning waiting for everyone to wake up......i guess i've never really grown up:laugh:

Buying presents for myself after receiving money.

jennyjuniper 23-12-2015 07:51 AM

The bit just after midnight, when Christmas Eve becomes Christmas Day and everyone else is sleeping. 'Tis the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse'.

I loved that poem as a child, but I can't remember the rest of it. Anyone out there who knows the whole thing?

Happy Christmas to all of you. :)

Gusto Brunt 23-12-2015 12:39 PM

Probably the Christmas dinner piled high, and then slumping on the sofa for a nap, only to be woken at 6pm for the Christmas pudding with custard. :D
