Why do UK pop girls always become UK flop girls
Leona
Alexandra Pixie Lott Duffy Eliza Doolittle Cher Lloyd Lily Allen (to an extent with her new album) Ellie Goulding (as above after LMLYD you'd expect her album to smash) there's probably more but i just can't think of any The first 6 for sure had massive first era's but they were quickly dropped by brits in their following era's, why? |
Duffy had a second era?
|
This happens to every pop artist in the end except for the obvious exceptions (Madge etc)
|
The UK are so disloyal to their pop girls compared to the U.S. :worry:
Adele broke the curse though! |
But yeah the UK pop girls flop the hardest :(

the BRITS/BBC tend to pump more and more energy into promoting new music and artists and then just toss them to the side  unless you're under 25 and only one album into your career (or you're part of a massive label with milions to buy them out), Radio 1 aren't gonna be interested.

Air Balloon is her best song
|
I didn't say they both flopped, i just said to an extent, meaning they're both underperforming compared to their previous success'

It's just the music industry isn't it. Fickle. And women especially have a harder time because there is more of an emphasis on their appearance than men, so getting older, and maturer with age, not wanting to be a sex object etc. will all be factors. And the UK industry doesn't have the wealth of the US market to continually push established artists so they're pretty much left to their own devices after they've had their peak.
