Should the producers have aired the 'Choking Scene'?
 

Basically all in the title, should the choking scene between Marco and Laura have been aired?

I can only imagine the complaints Ofcom received about that last night...

No. I found it weird and all for show. I wasn't "offended" but I find anything involving Marco disgusting so I don't think they should air Marco full stop.

No, if it was real, but this wasn't it was all for show and came across as just weird and idiotic, which is what they both are.

Choking using a belt is fraught with danger. belts can jam and I am sure, somewhere in the UK now, some idiotic booze fuelled teenager is experimenting and its an accident waiting to happen. BB was grossly irresponsible for airing it.

i had no idea people would respond to the choking. the start of every episode reminds you that sexual stuff is gunna happen. i don't think choking is crossing the line, personally.

Laura was very aware that it was going to be on camera (checking appearance, mentioning the camera) so the scene is not genuine its playing at odd sex fetish for dramatic effect and air time.

That's probably why they did it-for all the publicity it'll generate, all the drama and shock at what's happening in the house.

Absolutely they should.....I think there is very little that shud be censored....BB use their disclaimer before show airs....there are 300 other channels....no one forced to watch....

Surprises me how Doris Day a lot of BB viewers are about some things .....it is Big Brother after all, it's not Homes Under the Hammer....

For the sake of the viewers stomachs, any scene involving that despicable pair should end up on the cutting room floor.

I don't like Marco and Laura but yes they should have aired it. If I knew about something more interesting they could have aired in it's place then I'd be all for that but I don't see the problem in airing the actual belt scene.

I don't think they should have censored it because it wasn't real choking, they were just mimicking it, and I'm generally not for things being censored. But I sort of think they should have given them a warning and shown us that also to balance out the 'entertainment' aspect of it with the real life dangers that could happen if people were to copy it. It's not necessarily BB's responsibility to do that, but since they give warnings not just for what housemates do, but how their actions can be perceived by the viewing public, it would have made sense for them to do that. I know they gave the 'risky sexual activity' warning but when the 'risk' of choking is death, they could have gone a little further to make it clear to more impressionable people how dangerous it can be.

Why on earth not. I hate when people moan that we don't see stuff then moan that we do. Poor little ofcom flowers would be much better not watching :laugh:

If they did not air it there would be uproar as to why c5 did not air it.. sure BB viewers can be offended but they are and were warned multiple times as show starts :D

Not something I personally am keen to watch but in regards to the show better to show who people really are than tiptoe around it...

I am quite sure last nights show sealed the fate of both marco & laura with the GBP and it certainly will not do either of them any favours in years to come...

Yes they should have aired it to show what complete prats they both are but it was uncomfortable viewing

I think it might have been a good idea for BB to step in and I'm kind of surprised they didn't and if OFCOM ends up getting involved, that'll be what trips them up. But I see no harm in them airing it. It was an extreme thing that happened in the house, why shouldn't we see it?

Emulating a choking scene IMO was no diff or any worse than when Lionel Blaire and the others wore fetish gear and writhed around with dildos in the BB sex den task.....It's not shocking if it's been seen before....and if people were defended last time then why come back for more ?
