Glastonbury 2016

A thread to talk about this year's festival, coming up this weekend.

Headline acts include Muse, Adele and Coldplay.

And legend Jeff Lynne of The Electric Light Orchestra and The Traveling Wilbury's will be making his Glastonbury debut on the Sunday afternoon, let's hope we have a Mr Blue Sky for that.

Pete. 22-06-2016 06:20 PM

Only here for Adele

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 22-06-2016 06:22 PM

People that are there and are complaining about the conditions get on my nerves. Shut the **** up, you know the score.

Drew. 22-06-2016 07:27 PM

Coldplay :clap1:

Shaun 22-06-2016 07:30 PM

none of these headliners are going to beat Kanye last year.

Depressing how both of my surprise-superstar contenders for a headlining spot this year have both ended up dead long before their time. And even more depressing knowing you're going to get saps like Coldplay trying to cover them.

Crimson Dynamo 22-06-2016 08:32 PM

West was tragic and roundly panned.

zakman440 22-06-2016 08:38 PM

Coldplay should be brilliant - I went to see them at Wembley last week and they were epic. Two hours of them is going to be brilliant :clap1:

LaLaLand 22-06-2016 08:41 PM

The lineup this year is brilliant bar Coldplay (again), always love watching Glasto.

This is all that matters.

seanraff07 23-06-2016 09:40 PM

Headliners are so middle of the road this year.

Have to say I prefer the look of some other stages or acts on earlier in the day.

Love watching music festivals on the TV, nothing beats live music.

LaLaLand 24-06-2016 04:09 PM

Anyone watching the live streams on BBC website?

Jess Glynne has KILLED IT! Amazing live

Braden 24-06-2016 10:54 PM

I'm ****ing loving Underworld on BBC4.

Braden 24-06-2016 10:59 PM

...oh, they're not singing Born Slippy.

LaLaLand 25-06-2016 05:32 PM

Looking forward to Adele tonight, should be great.

Disclosure last night were awesome, just wish they had more "special guests" join them!

Crimson Dynamo 25-06-2016 05:33 PM

Pete. 25-06-2016 05:49 PM

Ammi 25-06-2016 10:32 PM

Pete. 25-06-2016 10:35 PM

She's killing it :worship: Can't wait to watch the beginning half

Can't believe someone literally passed out lmao impact

Drew. 25-06-2016 10:36 PM

She's been great. Don't see many artists soak it up and enjoy the moment as much as shes done

Alf 25-06-2016 10:39 PM

That crowd must be bored ****less

That's why they're singing their hearts out I guess

Braden 25-06-2016 10:41 PM

I cringed when she brought Maria from Brazil on stage after Make You Feel My Love and she couldn't name any of the other acts she'd seen so far :joker:

Ross. 25-06-2016 11:21 PM

Adele was absolutely incredible, her personality is everything :worship: I ****ing love that woman

LaLaLand 25-06-2016 11:42 PM

I would pay to go and watch Adele just be Adele without singing tbh. Just love her, soo friendly and warm.

Denver 26-06-2016 12:21 AM

Just saw Adele and only one word describes her Phenomenal.

I love how she doesnt need fancy dancers or staging her voice speaks volumes probably one of the best if not the best Glastonbury sets ever

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 26-06-2016 02:31 AM

Adele is a good singer and has good songs but her shows are so boring. Like if you don't need dancers or anything like that at least what you can do is switch up the songs a bit in like maybe a remix or something like that. I would fall asleep.

seanraff07 26-06-2016 09:51 AM

Adele shouldn't be headlining a festival.

Fatboy Slim was absolutely bouncing

Crimson Dynamo 26-06-2016 12:39 PM

I found Adele to be underwhelming]
]I fond her Schick insincere now "ooh get me i am just a cockney sparra" "look at how dawn to earth I am " oh ck off luv we have seen it and we know you aint now.

Personally I thought they whole thing was flat and a little incongruous

Crimson Dynamo 26-06-2016 12:40 PM

and i like adele

Crimson Dynamo 26-06-2016 03:32 PM

68 year old Jeff Lynne killing it on the pyramid stage at the mo. His voice as good today as it was in the 70s

remarkable man and music legend

Rumours buzzing around that Rihanna and Noel Gallagher could join Coldplay on stage tonight, with Beyoncé and Jay Z also flying in to watch them perform:

Quote:

Word in the mud is, the more sensible Gallagher brother, a very hairy Bradley Cooper and Matt King (Superhans in Peep Show) were all hanging out together at The Park Stage's backstage bar last night. Our writer James Hall reckons that Gallagher may well join Coldplay on stage when they play Up&Up – for which he played guitar on the album A Head Full of Dreams. Seeing as he isn't billed to play this weekend, there could well be truth in the rumour.

The crowd are also being given Xylobands for tonight, which should look amazing :flutter: :

Drew. 26-06-2016 05:21 PM

Really looking forwards to Coldplay later

Crimson Dynamo 26-06-2016 05:30 PM

I wish it was Noel Gallagher playing tonight instead of the insipid coldplay

Ross. 26-06-2016 05:34 PM

Beyonce's UK leg of her tour starts in two days so I don't think she's flying in specifically just to see Coldplay as they're suggesting

Looking forward to them though

Ammi 26-06-2016 06:36 PM

...what happened to the girl I used to know..?...you let your mind out somewhere down the road...don't bring me down.....

zakman440 26-06-2016 08:30 PM

It's time :clap1:
