Less than a day afterwards and that £320 million NHS funding has turned into talks of abolishment.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Well hopefully he will have no say as to that,he needs to get a lot more MPs to Westminster.

However under the electoral system we have in the UK, he has next to no chance of gaining any substantial numbers of them unless he can get UKIP to near 30% and have both Labour and the Conservatives down to something like 27% each.

The article is from January 2015...he should have no issues now maintaining the NHS with his 350 million a week saving

Did any of you actually read the article? He said this month's ago, and the idea was rejected by the majority of members in his party, he wishes to debate it further with his party so the idea is supported, which is unlikely given they did not support it in the first place.

Plus Farage is not prime minister, nor is UKIP running the country. Not to say the NHS won't be privatised (who knows what will happen), although getting hysterical/worried over something like this is laughable.

Also did anyone really believe that £350 million would be placed into the NHS? Anyone with a brain cell could spot from a mile that was a load of campaign BS to persuade people who don't understand things to vote.

This article was from the start of last year and he's since said in an interview that it was an idea that was floated among others and he does'nt hold this opinion now(if he ever did).
Also Farage is not the PM and never will be so i would'nt go panicking.

Edit:Not to mention he said a few times that he will probably stand down as leader in the not too distant future.

He made a promise to do that before and then he pulled some bull**** excuse out of his arse to get out of it. The man's a lying chancer, he won't give up anything until he's forced to.

Interesting article. Nigel Farage said that in ten years time we might have to go down the private route to get our health care. Note the word, "Might" in that sentence, well we can all talk about mights..can't we? Also ten years is a long time. I think most people are worried about the near future to be honest and I highly doubt that we will be losing the NHS in ten years, especially with the massive reduction of foreigners coming to live here within that period of time, now that we are leaving the E.U. Just imagine how much more money and beds that would be taken up if we stayed in Europe. Then the NHS would have been in trouble.

Well the advert in the link below, which states, "Let's give our NHS the £350 million the E.U takes out every week", reads to me that it is a suggestion rather than a promise from UKIP.

You are wasting your time Paul. The Farage detractors and embittered 'Remain' losers will ignore any posts - no matter how reasonable, factual. or logical - which does not fit in with their own perspectives.

I could fill a thread on here with the broken promises and U-Turns of the EU, David Cameron, Jeremy Corbyn etc etc, but it would be to no avail. (I know because I have posted many)

If picking on something which Farage said, then twisting it, gives them comfort - let them have that succour.

I am not in the UK but looking at both sides of the argument it seems obvious to me that the side that tried to muddy the waters and deceive the electorate (the most) was the Remain side. Like other commentators have said this is early 2015.

Thanks Kirk. The referendum is not going to affect my life a lot but I did listen to both sides. One side did not have truth on their side. They just had threats, insults, and false promises. It should have been 80/20 in favor of Leave and when I say that I am assuming 20% of the population gets money from the EU.

I don't think you did listen to both sides, from the off you were advocating leave, so you hardly came from a neutral stance, as you say it doesn't affect you, and never set foot in the UK so advising the UK how they should have voted is a nonsense :laugh:

Nigel Farage has no power at all to make a decision about the NHS. Hardly anyone on here has taken his statements as fact in the past... so why start now?

I will say this: I wish that our leaders (i.e. Obama) had remained neutral. Because Obama voiced his support for Remain, I had to voice my support for Leave to balance it out. :hee:

Indeed but one things for sure both the Conservative party and the Labour party will never now agree to that.

Even if Labour and the Conservatives fell to 27% each, and UKIP were on 30%,under the present system, UKIP will still likely fall short of 100 seats.

Things change in politics but not to that level in general elections.

I kinda like the idea? Paying money for health insurance from your tax would be good - then the people who actually pay into the system would get free healthcare and people who don't would have to pay?

So the people most in need of help would be left out in the cold? Lovely...

America's health system is terrible, I do not know why anyone would want a Insurance based system like that.

Not sure how a two year old statement from someone with no power over the NHS or anything else, has caused quite such a stir.
