I actually can't believe Andy pulled those cards

Went from a joke to weddings...to slavery, stoning to death and people being thrown off buildings?

Pathetic.

It was probably the most far fetched I have ever seen a discussion actually stretch to. It's like me jokingly punching my black mate and then bring told by someone else 'HOW DARE YOU INFLICT SLAVERY EMOTIONS AS A JOKE'.

I think it was a ploy for Andy to come across as the best PC gay person ever.

Ed even said on BOTS he would have found it funny and that he over exaggerated.

I still can't believe it.

StephenPullen 06-07-2016 10:44 PM

The whole situation was absolutely asinine. I mean, wow. Andy is the biggest POS in the house.

Vicky. 06-07-2016 10:45 PM

It was just utterly bizarre

It reminded me (slightly) of BB5..there was a food fight and someone started bleating on about starving kids in Africa.

Except with this, there was literally NO relevance at all between what Andy was saying and what had happened. I guess there is a bit of a connection between wasting food and starving kids..

But again, only on BB. THIS is why I love the show :D

Headie 06-07-2016 11:03 PM

It's funny when a black person plays "the race card" they're dragged to hell and back on here, but when a white gay man plays the "gay card" it's just dismissed as 'oh well everyone was baiting him so it's justified x'

I don't get it

rusticgal 06-07-2016 11:12 PM

I think he saw it as a put down of his engagement to Ed....he thought it was belittling his special moment... he thought the joke was on him because he really didn't believe they were serious. He didn't want to make it about him so he sold the bigger picture...which kind of went a bit too deep and it all got a bit out of hand...

Amy Jade 06-07-2016 11:18 PM

It was seriously quite disturbing how he tried every which way to make himself the victim yet again, he humiliated himself tonight

I also thought Hughie made a fantastic point, why wasnt Andy outraged when Sam and Emma did the same as him and Ryan? seems to me he was just looking for an excuse to make himself look good but it backfired and his tears were frustration and desperation to claw back sympathy from the public.

Agree with both. LOL at BB5, I loved that.

First of all, even forgetting about the fact Andy was silly and made a stupid comparison, but his comparison doesn't even ring true in this country and never has.

So not just was it pathetic, but it made no sense whatsoever to automatically connect a law from a different country into a conversation in the UK about a joke.

I just don't get the "trail", I have no idea how he automatically got to that point of comparison. It's so far fetched. It's like me saying I am good with kids and someone telling me i should be hung because I'm a peadophile.

That's how bizzare it was.

hot2go 06-07-2016 11:20 PM

Hughie and Ryan and immature little idiots and I can't wait to see the back of them

Indeed. In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole fake engagement was a laugh at Andys expense...

However, the breakdown and delivery was amazing, ridiculous and so odd, whatever the reason for it.

And is Andy was to get annoyed at that stuff, why wasn't he offended by Sam's "bum boys" comment towards Ryan and Hughie.

Yeah I can't really connect the dots either. I expect it made sense somehow in his head at the time though or else there would be NO reason at all for any of the theatrics  I just cannot make it make sense at all no matter which way I try to look at it

A really really weird situation/show/reaction.

I still can't believe it.

He also made the point very strongly in his own words that
"you don't ever mess with Andy when it comes to gay rights"

He referred to the Tyson Fury thing and said he told Andy to let it go, but he wouldn't and he left the job he'd had for 8 years and loved because of it.

He said he and Andy were complete opposites and that is why they work so well together.

Imo it is people who are that passionate about gay rights who have achieved hard earned gay rights.

Nope I've seen a fair few posts on here saying "Hughie & Ryan were clearly baiting Andy and he had every right to be annoyed" etc. I just don't see how.

I'm don't wanna link specific posts because it'll cause arguments for sure  But you can see at least 3 or 4 people in the episode discussion thread, the "who was in the right" thread, and all the Andy threads etc who are saying his reaction was a result of "baiting", suggesting it made his reaction more ok.

Your post made it seem like everyone was dismissive of his comments when it's quite the opposite. I'm guessing anyone defending him are fans or just dislike Ryan/Hughie, I don't think it's really an issue.

Klingonz 07-07-2016 12:10 AM

Meaning that Hayden did bring the black vs gay thing out.

He didn't do himself any favours. When he gets out of there I hope he finds a sense of humour because he clearly doesn't have it. I have been finding him preachy and dull and if he is saved again Friday (because he will DEFINITELY be up) he will get even more arrogant. It was a prank it was funny HE BLOODY WELL WASNT

Amy Jade 07-07-2016 12:13 AM

How does being a fan of Tiffany Pollard indicate somebody has anger issues towards gays?

He was comparing two scenarios and you turned it into something it wasn't :suspect:

No. As i said, it was Hayden who did bring the black vs gay issue up, not me. For third time. Why did she even do that for?

No i did not. I did bring the real issue up, what he was hiding. Can you explain why Hayden did use black vs gay reference then?

Klingonz 07-07-2016 12:27 AM

Sounds quite racists and narrow minded to me. So i did not turned it into something it wasn't.

*mazedsalv** 07-07-2016 01:08 AM

And to those saying "well, Andy must have not overreacted because no one defended Ryan and Hughie bar Laura", well...

By using such heavy words and bringing up history, "stoned to death", "thrown off buildings", he knew what he was doing. He knows by saying this, none of the other HMs would be "against" him due to the severity of his comparisons. If they thought he was being ridiculous, they'd be scared to say in the likelihood they thought they'd come across as homophobic.

Clever from sneaky Andy. Had Andy not used those phrases, more people would have disagreed with him. He knew what he was doing.

Or maybe it's not within the bounds of possibility that people being stoned to death, thrown off buildings and many other horrors that were inflicted on gay people throughout the years actually does bring out feelings of utter disgust in him? That the fight to get from those horrors (which still exist) to today's gay marriage has been a long one that isn't to be taken lightly by two utter morons who have probably been getting on his tits for weeks with their attention seeking off and on fake showmance antics.
The man gave up a job he loved for his belief ffs. Hughie and Ryan wouldn't give up their freaking fake tan.

I never said he shouldn't be disgusted by things happening elsewhere, but there was no need to even bring up what he did at all. It had no relevance to anything whatsoever in the slightest. He was trying to be as controversial as possible to make the two of them look bad. It was A JOKE.

Whether it was a funny one or not doesn't really matter. Just like i don't go round calling people peadophiles if they say "I'm really good with children", he shouldn't be shouting the stuff he shouted. He looked like a nutcase.

I am personally very worried for him. The fact he even made a comparison is worrying, it's as if he was thinking of a situation to arise so he could unleash all this stuff to make people look bad. His thought track going immediately to that is not right.
