McDonald's food is gutter sh*te and they treat their staff as disposable (because they are). Welcome to the future.

Vanessa 27-07-2016 07:34 PM

Have you ever read any of my posts about my job? I despise it, the industry is foul, 90% of the cash (or more) comes from depressingly hopeless gambling addicts who are destroying their lives and their families lives, no matter how hard the big players try to dress it up. Anyone who sees it day in day out, knows the real score.

However, at least they get a little thrill, and gambling doesn't make you fat.

McDonald's does not feed anyone. That muck is not food.

Johnnyuk123 27-07-2016 10:26 PM

Brexit is to blame for all these job creations. How dare McDonalds create 5000 jobs in the UK. And how insulting is it for the rest of the world to then line up wanting to make deals with the UK inspite of Brexit? How very dare they make all the remain voters have to put up with such good news since we are now expected that all the UK have to look forward too is doom and gloom?

:joker: :joker: :joker:

Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel. "AAAHAH! And you thought Brexit was all for nowt but there are now 5000 new minimum wage jobs selling filth-food to children and chavs! What do you have to say now ey!"

I mean come on. Yes a job is a job but... We're talking about literally one of the worst jobs in the developed world...

I love Wendys

Nice to get Big Tomatoes
and Massive Salad
for any Burger Meal.

Sadly they moved out
of UK.
They used to have one left near Heathrow?

I am talking to their CEO
to try to get "one"
in Central London.
As I am sure it will make more
money than any McD.
Security Staff will ensure it
would not get anyone
stealing "free salad"
Buy you Meal first
then free salad

user104658 28-07-2016 08:35 AM

"So are you still enjoying working at the bank then?"

"Actually, the bank closed down. Now I make chicken nuggets and McFlurries for kids to keep them going while they use the local Pokestop. But don't worry - I'm going for regional manager! There are only 5000 other people in my exact position going for the same job, so I like my chances!"

user104658 28-07-2016 08:41 AM

Would also point out that the company I work for - although clearly smaller than McDonald's - hasn't had a new RM position become available for something like 10 to 15 years... Upper level management becomes entrenched. Sure you can "dream" (hah...) but realistically, going into a bigger company as a grunt, the best you can expect is middle management. Woohoo!

Yes Nick Cleggy '
Get In There

user104658 28-07-2016 09:35 AM

Can't view videos (as I'm visiting my sister and her Internet is 0.3mb... Seriously...) but, whether the current McDonald's CEO is young or not, I find it very difficult to believe that he doesn't have a University degree.

Whilst I understand optimism and that it's useful, let's be honest, you have to have realistic expectations. The vest majority of kids going into burger-flipping roles are not even going to become a duty manager, let alone an RM and certainly not CEO. It's simple maths. They employ tens (hundreds?) of thousands of people and there are only a handful of management roles... To say that "everyone" can reach the higher salary levels somewhere like McDonald's is ridiculous.
