Being fat shamed during nominations

Bit disappointed that some housemates used Heavy's obvious obsession with food as a reason to nominate him :umm2: I'm sure there are plenty reasons to nominate him without bringing food into it

ThriceShy 15-08-2016 11:59 AM

Because he is a bloke it is considered fine. If they were all nominating a woman for that reason then there would be uproar.

First thing youve said that I agree with!

:clap2: not a peep about it

Headie 15-08-2016 12:09 PM

No one commented on his weight though, they pointed out that he takes/eats more food than the rest of them, which is fair enough considering everyone should get an equal share of the shopping budget.

Of course he is going to eat more, would you expect Katie to the same amount as Heavy? It's just a PC way of saying he is greedy and by association ...fat

I thought they said he was greedy.....it's not necessarily the same thing....not saying you are wrong but I didn't see it that way....food is valuable commodity in that house...its currency.... Bear waiting food and Heavy always grabbing for more annoys all them in the same way ...they are constantly telling Bear off for it and he's not a big guy.

Xanzia 15-08-2016 12:14 PM

Big fan. After his lean nomination speech for Renee, i do not see him as fat at all, unless you are calling winston churchill a fat bastard too!

Heavy got his own food from the shopping budget this week though that wasn't shown on the HLs only Bears shopping, so to nominate him for being greedy when he got his own food is fat shaming in my eyes

Too true.

erinp5 15-08-2016 12:18 PM

Not about his weight, it's about him being greedy .

Yes, exactly- it is what is being inferred that is the problem. I think there was some discomfort in Heavy at what was being said during nominations, and this might have been part of the reason he threw food all over the floor- if it's on the floor, he can't feel ashamed or guilty about eating it.

Yeh, I was thinking this too when I opened the thread..

well hey they bashed chloe fake tits constantly

Garfie 15-08-2016 12:24 PM

If they chose their own food, was it actually the food he purchased that he threw over the floor, rather than the communal food? Coco-Pops surely wouldn't be communal food?

I'm not disagreeing with you ...if he only eats his own food then he should be allowed to do what he wants with it and not be nominated for it ....there just seems to be some opposition from others, some of whom I wouldn't expect to pick on him for his size...but I've said they're not a very nice group and are mostly insincere so your theory is just as likely as mine....I'm only guessing after all.

Jason. 15-08-2016 12:25 PM

I remember Cristian in BB16 being nominated for a similar reason that he was greedy and used to eat too much food and take food of other people's plates or s/t.

I don't think they were weight shaming him. Being greedy and being fat are two different things.

hot2go 15-08-2016 12:27 PM

Sometimes when someone is big they are excused for things that slimmer people wouldn't get away with...I thought Gemma Collins was lazy but it was often dismissed as fat shaming ...when in fact she was just lazy

That's true, but the difference is that the fake boobs are something she made a conscience decision to add to her body, rather than being something she naturally is or has become. To me, there is a subtle difference.

MB. 15-08-2016 12:27 PM

Also Sam was voted the most greedy in BB17 and he's hardly The Biggest Loser

Thats a good observation, possibly he threw the food he had purchased on the floor as he was upset by the greedy comments? Something sparked it which wasn't shown as they want to save Lewnie :bored:

kirklancaster 15-08-2016 12:28 PM

I have no problem with anyone eating huge amounts - it is ALL the considerable food and drink which has been thrown on the floor and wasted which I have a problem with.

I think it is time that BB punished ALL the house and put them on beans and rice until further notice.

This WOULD create proper drama.

Great example....food causes more arguments in BB then anything else...always has. It's the only thing they all look forward to...it's the main focus of each day....if it's disrespected it pisses people off, that's why Bear targets the food cause he knows it annoys them.

Jake. 15-08-2016 12:30 PM

You can be a skinny person and eat a ton and vice versa. They nommed him for being greedy, not fat

Is anyone starving in there? If they were on basic rations I could understand it, they had a massive shopping budget as well as all the extras they get

We obviously can't know that for a fact, but I think people who have often been made conscious of their weight or size might well have a difficult relationship with food.

Maybe, in his drunken state, this might have triggered guilt and shame about eating, especially if the nominations had made him feel uncomfortable and self-conscious about his size. To me, it was almost like he was angry with himself and was beating himself up by doing that.

It's obvious that Heavy is addicted to food, whereas Cristian was all about protein and keeping his body shape so there is a difference in my view

Well, he is greedy. Watching him stuffing his face at the party the other day when he was supposed to be on slops for the good of the group was instructive, in this respect. He is a glutton, and therefore, not uncoincidentally, he is massively overweight, to the point where, at forty three, he's probably never going to see his penis again, unless he spends a bit of time angling the mirrors correctly.

Yes, it would if this was the automatic consequence for wasting food. I like the idea of being put on basic rations with all other food confiscated for a few days.

The trouble with that is that when CBB housemates are deprived of food and booze, they just retire to bed. They've already been paid, so why should they do anything?

I really dont think he was nominated for taking spare food. He probably just got a bit of a rep for taking the last egg or taking a double portion after the meal is served.. Nobody is starving but I bet people had to have a smaller dinner because he wanted a larger one a few times or somethig.

He was coerced into eating by Lewis and Bear, the equivalent of encouraging an alcoholic a drink. I don't think about his penis but knock yourself out if you want to

Are you too busy thinking of L.T.'s Cherie? :joker:

He's a greedy attention-seeking barsteward

I'd like to see that too, I think BB are very lax in punishments for bad behaviour.

Like everyone else in the world, I have no interest in Colin's penis, beyond the occasional bout of morbid speculation. And as far as him being 'coerced' into eating the cake, it wasn't as if Lewis and Bear were holding a gun to his head, not even metaphorically. What annoys the most about Colin is that he won't acknowledge how weak-willed, and how desperate for any kind of attention, however toxic, he really is. If he threw himself on the voting public's mercy, and admitted that grown-up life is just something he doesn't understand, that he's going to need help with coping once he leaves the show, I could see him making the final. But he's going to have to drastically alter his strategy. As he took great delight in telling Bear, ten minutes after Chloe left.

Vicky. 15-08-2016 02:47 PM

I don't think its necessarily fatshaming to say someone eats a lot. I know so many really skinny people who eat like horses.
