umm what even is my life...

Imagine the scene you get up all exited to make the nice breakfast you thought off the night before. You get into the kitchen and whip out your favourite peanut butter and a banana, you put it into the toasty machine. Then you slide your way over to the fridge and snatch you're sweetened almond milk, pour ha into your tea. *toasty light goes to green* you think "oh wow she's ready". you put her on a plate and carry you're tea to the living room. perch the settee, put something on from on demand.... you've now been sipping away at your almondie tea and you've munched up all of your peanut butter and banana toasty. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT FEELS LIKE YOURE ****ING CHOCKING!!!!!!! Well missy this is what happened to me earlier this morning.

Now I'm ok it was nothing sever like I wasn't on the floor clenching my neck, it was just very uncomfortable and a bit scary. I had been having like an unsettling tingling feeling in my throat from time to time but I thought it was an allergic reaction to some bug bites on my neck because everywhere else I had got bitten it had stolen up quite a bit. Tbh I still believed this for quite a bit after this incident like I waited for it all to die down and just an hour ago I had a sip of my almond milk and I can still feel a pressing against my throat as I type this :/... So yeah, I guess I'm now allergic to nuts or whatever.
But like bye at my body randomly betraying me like "oh loov you tried it you're allergic now :)" umm....

Will. 16-08-2016 03:13 PM

Sounds like a really scary experience, I hope you're ok

Yeah I'm alright hun thanks .
I'm just a bit shocked that I randomly became allergic to something at 19. I legit thought allergies and stuff only really happened to like sickly kids who were raised wrapped in bubble wrap.

Samm 16-08-2016 03:20 PM

Hope you're okay! I didn't know that allergies could strike at any time either

armand.kay 16-08-2016 03:20 PM

also of all the allergies and intolerances I could of developed it had to be that one that could choke me to death for eating a snicker..

Tom4784 16-08-2016 03:21 PM

I hope they get Viola Davis to play you in the film adaptation :worry:.

But yes, I'm glad you didn't die

Cherie 16-08-2016 03:22 PM

Definitely an allergic reaction, you should get checked out to see what caused it :worry:

Yeah, I didn't really know you could become allergic to things like past 18.

Must have been really scary experience.

Lmao all the kids at secondary school who were allergic to stuff were legit like that :joker:

hmm I have to agree with you, she's the only chick capable of capturing the raw emotion I felt when I realised that another peanut butter and banana toasty was not in my future.

Yeah I called the gb and got an appointment with them on Friday, not sure what will actually come of it but hopefully they run some tests and find out exactly what I'm allergic too.

Jamie89 16-08-2016 04:04 PM

I had no idea that could happen either :worry: It sounds awful anyway, but at least you know about it now, and didn't bite into a bigger nut or something (idk how these things work ) and have a worse reaction

Daniel-X 16-08-2016 04:09 PM

Oh babe :(, the world is so harsh to the most kind hearted of chicks.

Yeah I don't know how it works either lol. Like I thought that peanuts were the worst ones but i seem to of had more of a reaction to the almond.

Please see a doctor about this as if you are allergic to nuts (and it sounds like you are) you need to carry medication with you, because even though you avoid nuts when you are cooking, they sneak into many prepared foods. It gets worse each time you have a reaction, or so my doctor says (I'm allergic to penacillin and seafood)

Marsh. 16-08-2016 04:46 PM

Yeah you're probably right when I tried the almond milk I reacted almost instantly compared to initial reaction when I didn't react until a few minutes after I had finished my meal. I called my doctor straight after and set up n appointment for Friday.

I'm pretty sure it's the at least the almond milk because hours ago when i had another glass, I was still thinking it was the bug bite at this point, it effected me almost immediately.

Oh, that's tragic, almond milk is lovely. I'm sorry for your loss.

I found out I was allergic to horses at the circus when my face swelled into a precise copy of the moon emoji.

Well now you mention it I can kind of see it now. Me on my death bed... Family and friend stand around me.. I pay them no attention as I'm making a top 20 ranking thread... in my final moment I let out a death rattle that sounds suspiciously like "poll incoming". Then you see my spirt typing away as it ascends into the after life!

Josy 17-08-2016 07:41 AM

This is what happens to me if I have anything citrus

Tbh you're lucky it wasn't much worse of a reaction, you could have went into anaphylactic shock and died.

Good luck at the docs, they are brutal for trying to find out what you are specifically allergic to.

Ammi 17-08-2016 07:42 AM

...did your sting all look ok after the choking, Armand...?...did you choke fabulously like the fragile orchard you are..

...seriously though, that sucks when you love almond milk so much...(I love it as well..)...I have known a few people who have developed nut allergies later in life and it's strange that you say that you had swellings from bites/many bites and many swellings when this happened..?...because I think there is a link there as well, to reactions to other things because that was the cases with the ones that I've known.../they've had asthma or other swelling reactions to stuff....

...anyways if you can't have almond milk then I won't have it either and we'll have it banned from every outlet in homage to you and your suffering and don't worry, you'll still look fabulous without it in your life/the loss is all with almond and not armand....

bots 17-08-2016 08:26 AM

its always a good idea to have anti histamine tablets available to you at all times. Anyone can get an allergic reaction - to anything, and every second literally counts in treating it.

I've had a serious food allergy since childhood, and you really can't trust anyone where food preparation is concerned. Luckily, there are medicines available now that really do protect you, so make sure you get them from your doctor.

yeah the bites were writes but hopefully the doctors can actually work out what that was all about. They've not been very useful in figuring out things in the past.

Wow Ammi I'm touched but I can't have almond milk I would like others to enjoy it on my behalf.

Yeah I've been hesitant to eat things since so that sounds like a good idea, I'll deffo ask about them.
