Paris and LA to host 2024 and 2028 Olympics
The result will be announced on 13th September 2017, and the candidates are: https://sportetsociete.files.wordpre...dates-2024.jpg Update 13/09/17: Paris hosts in 2024, LA in 2028 |
Some pretty big 'names' here aside from Budapest, I'll be happy with any of the other three but think I lean towards LA cause the opening ceremony would undoubtedly be amazing
That said, Paris (or Rome) would be better time zone wise so |
Budapest :)
|
Quite happy with all of them but Los Angeles, because that'd just be a really safe choice. And that would mean 3 Olympics not in Europe.
I'd love to see how Budapest get on. |
Rome..
Paris would be a security nightmare. LA is too much time difference. Not sure about Budapest to be honest. |
Budapest or LA
|
2024 seems so far away. hello 33 year old karl, i hope you've got over your commitment issues.
|
There are all great picks, but my heart lies with LA.
|
Give it to a new country
|
LA, but Budapest would be nice
TBH I'd be happy with any of the four |
Either Rome or Paris.
USA have had 2 of the past 9 Olympics (1 being LA), so sod the Yanks, and just no to Hungary. My choice would be Rome. |
Italy or France is good for timezones.
US would make the ceremonies epic. |
Think Budapest will get it and they seemed serious about it even a few years ago so hopefully they pull it off
|
Rome would be boiling hot in August so Paris or Budapest
|
Would say Paris, but they just had the Euros so It will have to be Rome.
|
Pairs, they deserves some happiness if not then LA
|
Any but L.A. Having three games in a row not in europe would be a bit silly now.
Ideally, Rome. Budapest would be a nice surprise too and I'd be intrigued to see what they could do. And of the three European bids, Paris have already had it twice so screw them. |
I think that Rome would be really grand for a Sporting event.
I also at some point in the future want to see an Athens Olympics now that I'm old enough to pay attention to the Sport. |
|
ugh L.A. and Paris are too obvious especially after Tokyo
|
Budapest would be lovely but I can't see Hungary beating Paris/LA
And I think with the ~terror threat~ in Paris I think LA has it won |
Paris but I think LA will probably win
|
Budapest to drop its bid.

What a fascinating battle now looms, still leaning towards LA but Paris would be great timezone wise and maybe even for travelling over so I don't mind
Imagine if Paris don't win again :omgno: |
London
|
Paris, because of the time difference.

Paris doesn't seem the safest option. I would go with LA. R.
|
Reykjavík
|
Not sure if this has been posted but the IOC sought an agreement with Paris and LA whereby one would host in 2024 and the other in 2028, and it seems LA have agreed

I'd have preferred Rome 2024, lets just hope terrorism isnt as bad then
|
I would've liked Rome too, but we can't predict that far into the future of how the world is gonna be.
|
Fix, funny how the only two countries left end up both being guaranteed an Olympics eh
What about countries who might have been eyeing up a 2028 bid. Absolute disgrace |
