its sad that alzheimer's and dementia accelerates one's death, and I have sympathy for people who have a relative or a grandmother or a grandfather that has it, I am lucky because my grandfather is 92 and his mind is still pretty sharpe and strong, he is lucky in some way because he does not have alzheimer's or dementia,

Legend..
He will forever be known to future generations of kids for his role as Willkie Wonka.
Absolutely loved him when he partnered Richard Pryor in films.

....awww, he had Alzheimer's, didn't he....cruel and awful disease...a good age though...in all of the interviews that I saw him in, he always seemed like such a nice guy, very thoughtful/very deep and a lot of personal sadness in his life...

RIP to a true comic genius. Gene was one of my favourite comedy actors. Death is inevitable, but it is still so sad to see these true 'stars' pass away.

Was just about to post this smudge. Some of the best funniest films ever.

Very sad, a death of anyone is always sad but when their lives have been affected by the cruel condition that is Alzheimers it is even more sad.
