Spoiler: |
No but I have relatives who swear they have.
Also, a friend of mine's Mum had a really terrifying dream that was kind of a premonition to a tragedy. She had one of those "you dream that you've woke up" dreams, and dreamt there was a black shadow standing over her in bed and putting it's hand on her stomach and like pulling something out of it. She found out she had miscarried less than a week later. |
No they dont exist.
|
Not the Casper type or the head under the arm type.
I have seen people in spirit though. |
Ghosts do not exist. Fact.
|
Nobody has ever seen a ghost because they don't exist
|
I wish they did exist....could seriously do with some advice from my mum right now.
|
yawn @ the militant atheist stereotype being trodded out already

Yes, because they exist.

I haven't either but I also don't have such a ridiculous level of arrogance that I feel qualified to tell others what they have and haven't seen. :) |
"There are two possible reasons for the failure of ghost hunters to find good evidence. The first is that ghosts don't exist, and that reports of ghosts can be explained by psychology, misperceptions, mistakes and hoaxes. The second option is that ghosts do exist, but that ghost hunters are simply incompetent."

Plenty people think they saw what they perceive (from books, tv and film) as a "ghost" no one is disputing that. |
Perhaps a "believer" can explain to the forum what a "ghost" is and how it operates etc?
flesh it out a little so to speak |

No but I have heard one, on many occasions, I'm a believer so I'm very open to the idea of seeing one.

In one corner we have peer reviewed scientific knowledge built up over the lifespan of modern science. physics, biology, chemistry etc
in the other corner we have Spoiler: ding ding, round one |
Yeah, science, which holds the answer to anything and everything in 2016.
Oh wait.... They don't even know everything there is to know about the human body yet, let alone the universe. |

I don't personally believe in ghosts, and noone can prove that they exist, but that still doesn't mean they don't. |
Bore off LT.
|
LT. perhaps instead of demanding proof for people's opinions, you should provide some evidence for your own opinion that you believe to be fact.

because I am pretty sure that no one has the slightest clue apart from some horror film ideas or from reading harry potter/other similar books or your short answer would be onus probandi |

LT does make a valid point. What is a ghost. Is it something barely visible out the corner of ones eye, is it something fully formed that could be mistaken for a living being, is it an invisible voice, a whisper in the wind, some creaking of some wooden eaves in the roof. To have seen/heard a ghost, you would need to be able to verify it was a ghost and not something else, and part of that verification requires what a ghost is to be defined.
