The Apprentice 2007

Starting soon-ish
cant wait - hope there some good people on like last time

*M*a*TT*H*ew* 17-03-2007 11:27 AM

I think it will start in just 2 weeks time, hopefully. I'll just check my TV Schedule...

MarkWaldorf 17-03-2007 11:28 AM

I watched some of the last series, and I watched the Comic Relief special last night. I really enjoyed it, so I'll tune in for the first episode and see what I think.

*M*a*TT*H*ew* 17-03-2007 11:31 AM

I think it will start on Wednesday 28th March, at 9.00pm on BBC One. So, hopefully the 14 business people will actually have skills, as well as entertainment.
In Series 1, they all had great business skills and talents. Even though Series 2 was a little bit more entertaining, half of them shouldn't have been on the show.

MarkWaldorf 17-03-2007 11:44 AM

I didn't watch any of the past series, so I can't say anything, but I hope they're really good.

BigSister 17-03-2007 03:09 PM

i watched series 2 and enjoyed it so ill be watching series 3

GiRTh 17-03-2007 04:58 PM

I hope it's not like last years fiasco.

Pipergun 17-03-2007 05:30 PM

I bet it'll start on 4th April - when I'm in Germany, haha!

It's always my luck with these kind of things!

I have watched both series 1 and 2... I'll definitely be tuning in.

It's a very classy programme Imo, all the atmospheric music, the production, helps to keep the show's top-notch standard.

A lot of it is staged though, like "The Boardroom" is in a TV studio, and the week 1-12 etc, isn't the exact time span, just means that it shouldn't be taken too seriously.

THE NEW APPRENTICES

THE NEW APPRENTICES

KATE Middleton’s former boss is one of the hopefuls due to take part in the new series of The Apprentice.

Others include a quantum physicist, a housewife, a former Army lieutenant and a woman who was offered a job as a secret agent with MI5, but turned it down to appear on the programme.

All 16 lambs-to-the-slaughter are hoping for a £100,000 a year job with business tycoon Sir Alan Sugar but each week one will be booted off with the now infamous words “You’re fired”.

One of the group includes bankrupt waiter Rory Laing. He has fallen on hard times after once running a catering firm which supplied the Henley Regatta with posh public-school bar staff.

Prince William’s girlfriend Kate was one of his employees.

Having beaten over 10,000 applicants to appear on the show, the contestants face a much tougher job – winning over the stern Sir Alan.

He said: “This is the job interview from hell.”

Some of this year’s tasks involve selling sweets at London Zoo and designing accessories for pet pooches.

Two separate teams will live together in a mansion in Notting Hill, west London.

The third series will be shown on BBC1 rather than BBC2, thanks to its enormous success.

16 candidates is a lot to handle with, and if there will only be 12 airing weeks, then there will have to be double firings!
But trust me, The Apprentice will be good this year, so please watch it. It airs in just 1 week, at 9.00pm on BBC One.

*M*a*TT*H*ew* 22-03-2007 05:38 PM

*M*a*TT*H*ew* 24-03-2007 11:20 AM

Just 4 days to go until we see them. The website has now been fully updated, and you can view each of the 16 candidates' profiles.

3 Days To Go! :colour:

I just can't wait until Wednesday night, it will be fantastic. Come on, nobody realy posts on this thread, so calling ALL APPRENTICE fans here! This is the thread for all Apprentice shows and pre-news and gossip. Latest: Tim has quit!
I know, it really is shocking. First Michelle from S2 quits, now Tim from S1 quits. I think they just need to realise how tough this is, and see this as a game.

BigSister 28-03-2007 09:24 PM

Andy probably was the best 1 to go but i dont like either of the 2other girls so I hope they go soon. Trey(I think) looks an handful and Adam is the 1 from Blackburn so ill be cheering him on

Pipergun 28-03-2007 10:04 PM

I think Andy was the right choice to go, although Sophie wasn't half as innocent as she tried to make out.

Andy was just too nice, and trusting. He should've took the bull by the horns, and kept a beady eye on what everyone was doing. They also lacked any sort of planning.

However, the downward spiral started, in my eyes, once Andy was forced into the PM role by the others: he should've spoken up and offered Adam the role, who actually wanted it.

It's far to early to say, but almost all of them seem far to cocky about their own abilities. I can see Tre, Simon and Rory becoming annoying for the men, and I don't take to Gerri or Sophie, either.

BigSister 28-03-2007 10:15 PM

Tre could be another Syed IMO. I dont like those 2 girls either Tom

andybigbro 31-03-2007 10:27 AM

i watched this on wednesday and i liked it i am going to watch it this week

GiRTh 31-03-2007 11:07 AM

Jadine. Nasty piece of work.

They stiched Andy up and he wasn't bright enough to even contemplate it would happen. I love this show. They all think they're such hot sh*t only to find they dont quite have what its takes. Great TV.

James 31-03-2007 11:10 AM

I watched a recording and enjoyed the start to the series. I always noticed how the most prominent members of the teams - with the biggest personalities - are always making the worst business decisions.

Alan Sugar probably didn't see Andy ever winning the competition so that's why he fired him.

GiRTh 31-03-2007 11:10 AM

Mods, here's the other Apprentice thread.

*M*a*TT*H*ew* 31-03-2007 11:49 PM

There will be a double firing on Wednesday...

Pipergun 01-04-2007 10:11 AM

Really!? Where'd you find that out from?

- You might want to put that in a spoiler, so that those who don't want to know don't have to!

SiMoN! 01-04-2007 06:26 PM

i am glad he went
he wasa right prat - thinking he's all that

was a good challege

*M*a*TT*H*ew* 05-04-2007 11:21 AM

Here are the Apprentice's ratings so far:

28th March - 5.0 million
4th April - 4.7 million

Series 3 is averaging at 4.8 million.

BigSister 05-04-2007 11:26 AM

haha i must be some million because i didnt watch it last night. I didnt recognise the 2 who went out though so they must not have been very good

Ruth 05-04-2007 11:28 AM

That Rory was a complete t**t.

Tre is annoying and argumentative, but most of the points he was making were good ones. Rory just wanted a compliant little team, who would not dare question anything he said. His idea was rubbish and Tre was the one who had the guts to say it to his face (for all the good it did).

x_mel_x 05-04-2007 11:38 AM

Tre is so annoying but i was glad Rory went-he was to posh and snobby!

*M*a*TT*H*ew* 05-04-2007 11:40 AM

Lohit is a complete nobody. He hasn't talked very much, and he isn't given enough air time.
Now that there are 13 candidates, I hope actually says something useful.

GiRTh 05-04-2007 11:47 AM

hilarious episode. First it was ifti for the shifty, then Rory had to go. I like Tre. He could be great entertainment

Ruth 05-04-2007 02:28 PM

Exactly. I think Tre should be kept in at all costs, because he will be the most entertaining one of the lot. Well apart from Jadine, who disturbs me on so many levels.

GiRTh 05-04-2007 02:32 PM

Jadine is very scary.

For once the women are united. That means the boys are in trouble.

Edit: Gazal. She's Purrty.

Red Moon 05-04-2007 05:32 PM

For those that are interested there is a podcast for the programme:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/progra...prentice.shtml

James 06-04-2007 09:29 PM

It was a bit unfair that the boys' team won orders from two out of three of the retailers but still lost when the third retailer was worth so much more. The tip about selling the hardest to the big retailer would be alright in normal business circumstances but in this task they didn't have an option but to pitch to all three retailers.

lol at the Rambo belt - no-one's ever going to use that, the dog cabinet was an okay novelty item I suppose.
