The CBB19 General Discussion Thread

I don't really like making ~official~ threads like this and prefer leaving it to other people but I have some thoughts/observations I'd like to make and it seems pointless making an individual thread about each one.

Adam shade?

I have a feeling this series will be similar to series' like CBB15 and CBB16 where there isn't a clear forum favourite or two. Like CBB15 and CBB16, I think they'll be a diverse set of forum favourites which is definitely refreshing. CBB18 had Renee, CBB17 was Tiffany, CBB14 was Frenchy, CBB13 was Luisa etc. It's more interesting this way and provides better discussion on the forum in my opinion.

Also, I don't think the all stars will do as well as everyone thinks. Besides Calum, Speidi and Austin - I think the rest will be evicted just as frequently as the new stars.

I forgot the other things I wanted to say.

Jason. 04-01-2017 05:52 PM

I'm here for this series being like 16. I just hope the airtime isn't hogged by James Jordan or some sort of series ruining feud. I think this series has potential tbh.

Cal. 04-01-2017 05:54 PM

It definitely does. There's lots of ways it could go and there seems to be plenty of people they want to focus on. They seemed to want Emma and Rylan to highlight several times last night that they wanted a fun, feel good series (which is one of the contributing factors to people on here saying it doesn't feel like a winter series in my opinion) which, along with the colourful vibes in the house etc, is promising.

Definitely. Can see Jasmine and Nicola out within the first three/four evictions and James and Coleen evicted either in the semi or approaching the semi. I don't think Austin will even do too well in the final, fourth at most I think.

Jason. 04-01-2017 06:01 PM

I hope Jasmine does better than she did in CBB13.

I think she'll shine more in this series.

Cal. 04-01-2017 06:02 PM

She's a lot more confident this series and is really making sure she puts herself out there so I think she'll do better this time.

For me she gave the best impression out of the returnees last night so I hope so. I was surprised that she was one of my favourites.

I never particularly disliked her but I always found the whole love triangle thing so bloody tedious so I had no interest in any of the 3 of them

I noticed that too, I thought they were trying to make a point of it, and that plus the general house design makes it seem like that's what they're initially going for. I've heard the ratings were pretty bad though so if that continues I can see them dropping the 'fun' concept and trying to create drama/tensions/arguments to pull the ratings back up tbh.

I think so too but the fact they're possibly putting Jedward and Procey in suggests they want to keep the fun factor.

Daniel. 05-01-2017 09:54 AM

I think this series wil be either one of best or worst ever. No in between

Last nights highlights were actually so good for a first night highlights, I do hope the whole series isn't about Speidi and Stacy though (as much as I ADORE Stacy).

Livia 05-01-2017 10:53 AM

I am struggling with this series already. They've put in so many desctrictive, egotistical, sociopathic ex-housemates that it's clear they're going to get all the highlights. It's going to be the same people doing the same things that disgusted me last time. New housemates won't get a proper chance to shine or even be interesting.

Imagine... if Channel 4 had treated Big Brother like this.

I thought so too. It felt like the show had been running for a week or so already.

Cal. 05-01-2017 08:39 PM

They've always been prone to casting based on history between celebrities outside the house (CBB7 with Alex and Dane both being Pricey's exits, CBB9 with Nicola, Natasha and Natalie all feuding with each other etc), but it seems like most of this cast has history with each other (Ray J and Stacy, Angie and Calum, Calum and Bianca) and I don't really like it. It feels like nothing is going on in the house in the present.

Daniel-X 05-01-2017 09:01 PM

Liked tonight's highlights again, shaping up to be a good series I think.

Jason. 05-01-2017 09:31 PM

Yeah I'm really enjoying this series at the moment.

I kinda don't want people to enter tomorrow? (unless it's Pricey ofc)

Cal. 06-01-2017 10:39 AM

Have a feeling Jasmine will be the only 'All Star' who really betters themselves out of this series. She's coming across so much better than her first series.

Early days but I agree, she needs more airtime. She's probably my favourite All Star alongside Nicola.

Lostie! 06-01-2017 05:20 PM

Here for Jasmine's redemption :clap1:

Just don't get dragged down by a showmance with Jamie please :fc: :worry:

Denver 06-01-2017 05:23 PM

Jedward won

Daniel. 06-01-2017 05:24 PM

We want Karissa and Kristina

Same tbh, it doesn't feel like it needs new housemates unless It's KP.

They have the right amount of housemates and it's a good mix.

And it feels like there is a lot in there, idk why, perhaps it's because there are ex housemates and new housemates.

Oh yeah, she better not go down the showmance/love triangle route again. As much as I enjoyed it in CBB13 it would just be repetitive and she'd probably come out looking worse than Jamie.

Plus doesn't Jamie have a girlfriend on the outside anyway? (I think) So thankfully it rules out anything happening between them (unless he makes the same mistake again)

Will. 06-01-2017 05:28 PM

This is the first series in a long time where there's no one I really really don't like.

There's a couple I don't like but I don't mind watching them, normally I can't stand watchig housemates I dislike.

If that makes any sense.

IA, I don't see why they need 15/16 HMs when 14 is enough anyway.

Yeah 14 is the better number, 12/13 is the perfect amount. Plus normally every series someone is ejected/walks and if that doesn't happen this series then there gonna have to get them out in large amounts depending on the length of the series.

Will. 06-01-2017 06:11 PM

I wonder if 2 housemates were going in tonight? Perhaps they thought that someone would have walked/been ejected by now and therefore are only having 1 housemate go in tonight.

Cal. 06-01-2017 06:20 PM

So is there going to be 15 housemates now?

Assuming no one walks or is removed, that's 9 to get out between now and the final. Assuming the series is 32 days I'm guessing it could go-

Day 8 - 1 out, 14 still in
Day 11 - 1 out, 13 still in
Day 15 - 1 out, 12 still in
Day 18 - 1 out, 11 still in
Day 22 - 1 out, 10 still in
Day 25 - 2 out, 8 still in
Day 29 - 2 out, 6 still in
Day 32 - Final

Will. 06-01-2017 06:27 PM

Oh okay so that can easily get them out without it feeling rushed.

I would love a 5 person finale, didn't BB17 and CBB18 have one?

Cal. 06-01-2017 06:28 PM

There hasn't been a 5 person final since CBB15 I believe Will.
