more optical illusions
Look at this picture and what do you see, a woman looking to the left or an eskimo looking out into the night...
They're both in there. Trust me! |
Stare intently at the black dot in the centre of this image and watch the grey shadow disappear...
OK, a very straight forward test for you. Simply read out loud the following list of colours, remembering to read the text only...

Rather than start another topic, here's a good one:
http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/3...960682okx2.jpg Evil face on left, good face on right. Now stand up, and walk 8 steps back from your screen. The faces now interchange, so good is on left, and evil on right - Mark |
Whoa Mark, freaky stuff that.
OMFG that is scary!
OMG! Mark's freaked me out!
Gosh Mark, that one's well weird!

In black you can read the word GOOD, in white the word EVIL (inside each black letter is a white letter). It's all very philosophical too, because it visualises the concept that good can't exist without evil (or the absence of good is evil ).
Can you see why this painting is called optical illusion ? You may not see it at first, but the white spaces read the word optical, the blue landscape reads the word illusion. See for yourself...
The word TEACH reflects as LEARN.
In brown you can read ME, and when you look through you can read YOU.
If you stare at this picture long enough, you can see the ocean... although you better be quick, cuz I reckon this one might get removed sooner rather than later..

The gimmick of making two people look like a skull has been around for more than a century. Maybe even longer, but I haven't seen any proof of it. The image shown here, A Pierrot's Love, is one of the oldest examples (1905). It's also on the ambiguous skulls page. Pay special attention to the detail of the image : the glasses that become teeth, the sleeves become a nose ... it all works out. Which makes it the mother of all scary optical illusions to me.

And, on a lighter note...
