Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have ‘agreed a deal’
to stage the fight of 2017, according to a report. http://cdn-02.independent.ie/incomin...Mayweather.jpg The Sun are reporting that the McGregor and Mayweather camps are set to meet up in Las Vegas in the coming days, with a deal for the duo to fight edging closer in recent days as possible dates have been finalised. McGregor pulled out of a Q&A event with fans in Dublin scheduled for this Friday after organisers confirmed ‘an unavoidable schedule change will see Conor McGregor in Las Vegas at the time of the event’. Now the latest report suggests McGregor will be filming an anti-bulling video in America this week as part of the deal that will give the green light to the Mayweather showdown. The Nevada Sport Commission fined McGregor after he was deemed to have thrown a bottle in the direction of opponent Nate Diaz ahead of their UFC showdown showdown last year, with the Irishman’s gesture to take part in the film appearing to be part of a charm offensive to win backing from the Commission for the fight to take place. The Sun are reporting that a source from the Straight Blast Gym has confirmed that an agreement is in place for the fight to take place. “Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have agreed a deal to fight and have both settled on their respective fees,” stated their source. “The contract hasn’t officially been signed yet because of a third party hold-up but all the details have all been agreed on. The fight could even be announced within two weeks.” McGregor and Mayweather have been involved in several rounds of verbal sparring over recent months, with both clearly keen to hype up an event that could break box office records if it is confirmed. While this would be McGregor’s first professional boxing match, interest in the event is already huge and the Dubliner appears to be getting into shape after he posted this video of his sparring session last week. http://www.independent.ie/sport/mma/...-35450042.html |

it's going to be embarrassing for him
And I know he has a lot of pride, I'm surprised he's sacrificing it for a big payout |
And Niamh it goes without saying he'd destroy Mayweather at MMA because they're two different sports and despite the fact they're both fighting they're very very different lol

Ffs
I said on twitter all I can see is Mayweather agreeing to make McGregor look good but then Ultimately beating him. A fake nasty feud in the weeks running up to it. This is so silly |
Jobber match before the main event between Alvarez and GGG in September

Always a pleasure to watch Money May box. I'll take it.
|
Tragic
Will watch though |
i dont blame either cause of the money. i like McGregor but just cause im a fan doesnt mean im gonna be some rose tinted glasses fan and not call this what it is. a pathetic joke. of course i'll watch since im a huge boxing fan but doesnt mean i have to pay for it. this PPV should bomb but of course its not going to. this shouldnt even count as win #50 for a-hole May. it should be listed as an exhibition. cant wait for this to be over so McGregor will finally get his ass back in a cage with some potential for great fight where his ass belongs.

Conor McGregor contractually forbidden from ‘going rogue’, throwing elbows or kicks at Floyd Mayweather It appears that Floyd Mayweather insisted on pure boxing rules for his fight with Conor McGregor, and it will cost Conor a lot of money if he goes off script. https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/UY8I...22492230.0.jpg If Conor McGregor decides to throw a little MMA into his August 26th boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, it will hit him very hard in the wallet. At yesterday’s conference call announcing the bout, UFC president Dana White made it clear that his lightweight champion is contractually forbidden from throwing kicks and elbows, or “going rogue”, as it was stated: “There is no way that will happen. That is absolutely in the contract, number one.” “Number two, this is a boxing match under the rules of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. When you talk about a guy like Floyd Mayweather, the lawsuit if that ever happened...” “You all know how much Conor likes money. Conor would depart with a whole lot of money if that ever happened.” Mayweather insisted on rules that stuck as pure to boxing as possible, which isn’t surprising. As reported earlier, the 12-round bout will take place at 154 pounds, and will be contested with 10-ounce gloves. It will have a boxing undercard that will be booked by Mayweather Promotions, and will air on Showtime pay-per-view. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2017/6/15...g-mma-ufc-news |
How will the PPV aspect of this work in the UK? Surly BT won't be showing it as part of their subscription platform? Do they even have the rights in any case?

Anyway, if Conor wins can you just imagine how much he'll be able to demand for a fight in the UFC at the end of the year?! |
only way Conor wins is he gets really aggressive early on & lands something lucky-ish that hurts like no other. i would absolutely lmfao if somehow he won. i had to laugh that Floyd really had to put in contract for McGregor not to do MMA techniques. i think that goes without question.

Alverez fought mayweather way to early pushed him just as hard as Cotto did but was only 22 no where near his prime, ****ty timing
|
Yeah I doubt Floyd would go back now
|
If Alverez beats GGG would love to see a rematch with Floyd, one more crack but yeah can't see Floyd going for that
|
i got no faith in it one bit for a lucky punch for Conor. Canelo caught him at times like others. hes just rolls with the punches so well. plus that was a fight Canelo really shouldnt have been in but money reasons back then. still wouldnt matter if it happened around this time instead though. even Maidana cracked him pretty well a couple times but that was just Mayweather willing on rare occasion to take a chance/his opponent lightly. like in the Cotto fight. i dont see him doing that again. i found it odd when he did that in those fights.

One Advantage For McGregor
http://i.imgur.com/d64vvbm.jpg?1 According to Showtime executive vice president Stephen Espinoza, Conor McGregor is allowed to throw a superman punch against Floyd Mayweather. The move that was coined in kickboxing has become commonplace in MMA, but it’s one that ‘Money’ won’t have seen before: “That’s well within the rules. A back fist probably wouldn’t be, but there is a lot of different things that can be thrown to throw off timing,” Espinoza said. “I can guarantee Floyd has never seen someone coming and throwing a Superman punch.” http://www.scrapdigest.com/conor-mcg...%22%20mcgregor |
I would like to see Conor win but when you look at this logically he doesn't have much of a chance. Mayweather, the most defensive fighter ever against a guy who's only hope is a knockout punch. There is no doubt Mayweather would outbox Conor in a 12 round fight, here are a few ways i think Conor can and why he could win -
Speed. Floyd is ageing, so he naturally would have lost some pace. Conor is at his peak physically. Movement. Conor needs to dance around the ring like a Ballerina, he cannot let Floyd become comfortable. Cardio. Conor needs to be 100%, throughout. Defence and discipline. Conor must NOT go balls to the wall and leave himself open, Floyd will beat him down and knock him out when he feels like it if he does. Conor must keep a good guard and pick and choose his moments carefully. Pre Fight - Conor needs to be Conor x100 throughout the build up, only the Notorious one can play somebody at their own game, better. Overall, Conor does have a chance all be it a small chance. I'll be enjoying it for the spectacle it is and view as a bonus if Conor does win. |
