Yeah I really enjoyed Davina's audition, shame she was montaged.

Lauren v Brennley's battle:

Amazing. :clap1:

caprimint 11-04-2017 09:06 PM

Wowwww though

Nicky91 13-04-2017 03:57 PM

Lauren was amazing, she sang with lots of emotion :D

caprimint 18-04-2017 06:41 AM

Lauren got the most votes last night and scored a place in the top 12 :amazed:

Mystic Mock 24-04-2017 07:49 PM

My favourites are Hunter and Stephanie.

Vanessa seems to be the most aware of what artist she wants to be which I like.

Lauren has a good voice, but needs more lively song choices imo.

Chris shows alot of the male singers on these shows how to actually do a falsetto.

The only singer that I really don't understand why they're there is Mark as he can't sing a note for toffee.

Mystic Mock 25-04-2017 12:09 PM

My opinion of the performances.

Jesse Larson - Decent vocal but just not my type of performance, plus that song has been done to death on singing shows over the past few years.

Mark Isaiah - His by far the least talented in the line-up, he should leave as he hasn't shown any potential to get any better, or even be average, the show is supposed to be about a basic level of vocal talent, not who's the biggest Bieber wannabe.

Stephanie Rice - I wasn't sure about her in the Blind Auditions, but after Safe & Sound in the knockouts she's growing on me, she sounds different to the usual Diva singers that we get out of the female singers off singing shows, I'd really love to hear her sing Just Tonight by The Pretty Reckless at some point as it would suit her perfectly.

Troy Ramey - There's potential with him, but he again let himself down imo with being too mellow when his got a bit of a Rock vibe about him imo, I'd give him another chance, but it would be my final one for him next week if he fails to deliver again if it was up to me.

Aliyah Moulden - For a 15 year old she's got a very interesting voice and she's very confident, however I wasn't very keen on the song as it's just not my type of thing.

Chris Blue - Good voice, but he was better last week imo.

Lauren Duski - Again a really nice voice, but the arrangement again comes off really dead like you're listening to a song at a Funeral, I'd like her to sing something more interesting like Burning House by Cam.

Lilli Passero - An awful song choice, I don't get what the production was thinking there as Lilli clearly is a Blues/Jazz singer, such blatant sabotage annoys me with these shows.

Brennley Brown - She was a bit average, I really don't get why her performance got the ITunes top 10 multiplier as there was much better performances on the night imo, of the Country girls I'd give my vote to Lauren so far as Brennley doesn't seem ready imo.

TSoul - Again like Lilli what on earth was the song choice all about for TSoul!? He is very lucky that the show gave him a late time slot because I'd think that he would be in the bottom two otherwise after that performance.

Hunter Plake - I've honestly not disliked a single performance of Hunter's yet, he sticks to his genre in his performances, he can do different tempos, and he doesn't just pick the same kind of artists in every round, imo Hunter has shown himself to be the rightful winner for pure consistency and being at such a high standard in every round, oh and he doesn't need to shout to impress.

Vanessa Ferguson - Vanessa has a good voice, but I know that this might sound a bit un-PC here, but her performance this week was more like what you'd expect a black woman in her 30's to sing on these shows. I like Vanessa more when she's got the Piano and giving off her own vibe and artistry, not just becoming Whitney Houston 222.0

I know that not everybody will agree with my assessments, but I am interested to read what other people thought of the night.

caprimint 25-04-2017 06:13 PM

^ I like "Burning House" and Lauren would do a great cover, but I don't think it's gonna be the song that will do what you're looking for. She needs something actually fun and up-tempo rather than pandering.

Lauren and Hunter were my faves  Shocked about it but I enjoyed Troy, Stephanie and Jesse too. Expecting the b2 to be Lilli and Mark with an outside chance of TSoul.

For an uptempo number I'd give her So What by Pink, I think that Lauren could do a good Country uptempo version of that song.

Lilli and Mark were quite poor, I mean how Mark has survived is beyond me as he really can't sing.

Mystic Mock 02-05-2017 06:20 PM

My opinion of this weeks performances for anyone interested in them lol.

Stephanie Rice - Great performance, she is quite underrated imo, she even did a bit of a Rock growl towards the second half which is absolutely fantastic in my view.

Aliyah Moulden - A very good voice, but I feel that she would've been better being told to come back as early as next year as it would've been another year for her to mature and grow into a performer, she's nearly there but just keeps missing out on being the finished article in my eyes.

TSoul - I think that his got a good voice, but as someone that doesn't like Sam Smith I feel that TSoul lacked passion, struggled on some of the high notes, and he did overwarble certain parts to my tastes, I think TSoul is talented but his not being mentored properly by Blake or the production, whoever you want to blame.

Lilli Passero - Not my style at all, but it was a much better performance for her as it played to her strengths rather than her weaknesses.

Hunter Plake - Imo if he doesn't win this show then there's something seriously wrong with the public that vote on these shows, even better than last weeks, and I honestly don't think that his delivered a bad performance yet, in my eyes Hunter is the standard for everyone else to reach.

Vanessa Ferguson - An unusual song choice for Vanessa (or not one that I'd personally give her anyway) but I'll give her credit she probably has done my favourite Talent Show cover of Diamonds, and she had her own style back this week too which was good imo.

Lauren Duski - A bit more of a lively ballad for Lauren this week if that makes any sense at all. Again good vocal, more stuff like this should be given to Lauren as it still had enough life in it without feeling completely bored. I still think that Lauren herself needs to be a bit more lively, but it was a step in the right direction.

Mark Isaiah - Mark is the weakest vocalist left by a million miles, but I admire the effort that he tried to give in his performance, it's just his too Biebery for me, but I'll give him credit that it was an improvement from him.

Jesse Larson - I quite liked it, it was one of my favourite performances on the night along with Stephanie and Hunter's. I'd have liked him to have gone with a bit more energy in the performance, but I understand that it can be really hard to recreate so I think that he did the best he could with the song.

Brennley Brown - She's obviously not the worst singer in the competition, but for some reason her performance probably brought the worst reaction out in me, I don't quite know why but I just walked away from the performance with the least positive things to say about it. As I've already said she's not the worst singer in the competition, but I feel again that her age is really harming her performing levels, that's what I'm gonna put it down to anyway.

Chris Blue - A very good singer, but he needs a more interesting song choice next week.

Nicky91 03-05-2017 07:59 AM

I Like Stephanie Rice, Vanessa Ferguson and Jesse Larson :)

Mystic Mock 03-05-2017 08:00 AM

I knew that Stephanie had connection issues, it's ashame though as I thought that she was one of the most talented in the lineup.

I'm making a prediction that Lauren will win as that was the only one that my Dad liked and he doesn't even like these sorts of shows but he caught some of the performances and he hated Stephanie and Hunter so that's how I knew Stephanie was in trouble as she seemed to have people in my eyes mysteriously not liking her who normally would like someone like her.

And I just feel that alot of the general public will be like my Dad and just not get Hunter at all when it comes to the final.

And I know that my Dad wouldn't like Chris as his not to my Dad's style and I do think that some people will not like Chris's style either.

caprimint 03-05-2017 03:49 PM

I think Lauren has the widest appeal tbh, plus she's country so that's really gonna help her in the finale. I'm so wanting her to perform something 'interesting' though, I don't like Blake's choices for her atm. :(

Slay @ her reaching #3 on iTunes this week

I agree 100% with this post.

I also think that she has a good voice and I'm not very big on Country Music, so I can picture neutrals in the final will pick her over almost anybody else who will badly alienate sections of the audience.

And for me I want a Reinvention week for the next round and this is what I'd give them all to sing, and give people like Lauren a chance to really wow everyone.

Hunter Plake - We Belong Together by Mariah Carey
Brennley Brown - Hold On, We're Going Home by Drake
Mark Isaiah - Killpop by Slipknot
Jesse Larson - Not Afraid by Eminem
Lilli Passero - Volcano by Damien Rice
Lauren Duski - Crazy In Love by Beyonce
Aliyah Moulden - Dream On by Aerosmith
TSoul - Sucker For Pain by Lil Wayne
Vanessa Ferguson - My Immortal by Evanescence
Chris Blue - Paris by The Chainsmokers

I've probably been thinking about it a little too much lol, but I think that it's a good way to test them by having them having to put their own spin on a song.

Mystic Mock 09-05-2017 08:35 AM

My opinion of this weeks performances.

Jesse Larson - He opened up the show okay, I liked his performance better last week personally, but I can understand his appeal this week, especially as it weren't the best night.

Aliyah Moulden - She was doing okay for me up until the staged crying towards the end, I see that sort of stunt get pulled on The X Factor alot I don't need to see it on The Voice too.

Vanessa Ferguson - Again was okay, it was nice to see her do something a bit different to her usual tempo, but I think I actually just would prefer her in her comfort zone as I actually quite like the different vibe she gives compared to everyone else in the competition.

Mark Isaiah - He should never have survived against Stephanie or Troy, but after this godawful performance he really has got to leave, I think he failed to hit any note correctly here. I however do like the song.

Chris Blue - Minus the autotuned beginning, I think he did fine, he was probably one of the best on the night with a much more fun song choice than last week for me.

Lilli Passero - She's got a very good voice which she never showed with Man! I Feel Like A Woman, but again like with her performance of Town Without Pity it's just not to my style, but technically very solid again from Lilli.

Lauren Duski - They're definitely trying to give her the winners journey, I actually think that her songs are getting better, I actually did like this performance as it suited her style, but she still really needs to work on the charisma front as the Guitar playing and uptempo song choices won't necessarily be there to protect her going forward. But overall again I liked this performance better than last weeks.

Hunter Plake - His worst performance for me, I still liked it, but I could tell that the show wanted him to slip up here with the way the arrangement of the song goes nowhere.

TSoul - His best performance.

Brennley Brown - It was really boring for the most part, but I did like the bits towards the end, to be exact it was around the 2:35 mark that it started warming up for me, but the song was nearly over by the time I was starting to get into it.

So based on the night this is how I'd do it.

Top 5:
1. Chris Blue
2. Hunter Plake
3. Lauren Duski
4. Jesse Larson
5. Vanessa Ferguson (more to my style)

Middle 3:
6. Lilli Passero
7. Aliyah Moulden
8. TSoul

Automatically eliminated 2:
9. Brennley Brown (would've been better coming back in a few years)
10. Mark Isaiah (he really needs to go)

Mystic Mock 09-05-2017 08:42 AM

Catherine Cabanela on BuddyTV is so biased towards the Country artists as apparently it's okay for Brennley to keep singing Country, but it's not okay for Hunter to do his style, I mean how blatant can she be.:joker:

BBfanUSA 11-05-2017 09:50 PM

Kelly Clarkson will be a Season 14 judge, she was rumored to be a American Idol ABC Revival Judge which is rumored to debut in Spring 2018, which should be lining up with the Voice.

Nicky91 15-05-2017 01:21 PM

so excited for this week's show :)

Mystic Mock 15-05-2017 05:26 PM

I'm looking forward to it to Nicky, although me and singing competitions always go hand in hand with the exception of American Idol for some reason.

Nicky91 16-05-2017 07:30 AM

lovely to hear Mock

Nicky91 16-05-2017 07:41 AM

my recap about the semi finals

Hunter Plake - loved him do a U2 cover, performed with lots of emotion

Jesse Larson - i really like Jesse for some reason, he has a unique voice i think

Lauren Duski - very beautiful emotional performance, wow

Vanessa Ferguson - it's Always very difficult to take on a Luther Vandross song, but i think she did a good job

Chris Blue - finally not so much dancing as last week, and i really liked his voice in this performance

Aliyah Moulden - beautiful staging, haunting performance it seemed, really really nice to watch

Brennley Brown - america got it's new teen country superstar i think, really nice performance, and i actually love every sara evans song

T'Soul - good performance, but not wowing me for some reason

my duet ranking

1. Aliyah & Hunter with let it go, wow

2. Chris & Vanessa with If i ain't got you, this was really lovely

3. Brennley & Lauren with good hearted woman, really nice watchable country performance

4. Jesse & TSOUL, with i wish, i really found it a boring performance, for a song which is supposed to be so uptempo with lots of dancing, i saw no dancing at all :(

Mystic Mock 16-05-2017 01:49 PM

Hunter Plake - A slow startup, but very good once he gets into it, I would've loved him to have played the Electric Guitar alot more though.

Chris Blue and Vanessa Ferguson - A very polished duet, but the song is very predictable to give to these two I felt.

TSoul - I understand that everyone has their style of Music, but his performances are really starting to sound the same every week, same tempo, same way of singing, same way of performing the song, if he gets to the final he really needs to change it up.

Brennley Brown - Better from her I think, although I don't know if it will grab many people's attention to vote for her.

Aliyah Moulden and Hunter Plake - Hunter did very well here I think, again the song choice is a bit predictable for these two, although having said that Aliyah sounded like a Zombie during this song, not her best round I don't think.

Lauren Duski - I think I would've liked this performance more if she'd made it more haunting, again a good vocal though.

Jesse Larson and TSoul - A bit dull.

Chris Blue - A very good vocal, but I think that I'm in the minority that preferred his performance last week to this week.

Vanessa Ferguson - I like her doing Music on the Piano, but her vocal was okay on the song.

Brennley Brown and Lauren Duski - This performance felt like a karaoke performance to me.

Jesse Larson - This was a massive improvement on his duet with TSoul, it's possibly my favourite Jesse performance at the lives, his in trouble in the vote though as his failed to make the top 10 on ITunes, I personally really enjoyed it though.

Aliyah Moulden - Much better than her Zombiefied vocal on the Duet, I do wish that they'd stop treating her like a kid on the show that's suppose to be releasing songs for teens and adults.

Nicky91 16-05-2017 01:56 PM

isn't it a idea for the voice, to do a celebrity version in the usa

cause i really like to see some actors and actresses sing and perform, John Stamos for example, he is a good amateur singer, but with extra coaching he can become a lot better :)

I think we've agreed on quite alot there, especially the duets.

Let's hope that America shares our tastes.:joker:

They could, although I tend to normally find that the Civilian versions can normally get screwed over for the Celeb version, BB and Family Fortunes are proof of that.

The show sounds interesting, are the Celebs any good at singing on the show?

And tbh Nicky I'm not very good at knowing Magicians I'm afraid.

reality star from our dutch version of Geordie Shore, Bibi Breijman, she is a really good singer

a radio DJ, Gijs Staverman, he did the carlton song/dance last week, it's not unusual, which was really fun and cool from him :hee:

The Voice USA Celeb Edition could be interesting, another show where Gary Busey wins.:joker:

Onto the current season at the moment, how on earth did Hunter not go through, don't get me wrong I don't think that Jesse should've been in there either, but Hunter has been an iconic contestant for them in this series and imo is the most talented.

The public are so harsh on anything that isn't Pop Music, or in America's case Country.

No offense to them both as they can actually sing, but Aliyah and Lauren were stiff as hell in that semi-final, and in Lauren's case played it incredibly safe, yet they go through without needing a Twitter save? It makes absolutely no sense to me.

maybe just more fans than Hunter, Jesse and Brennley :hee:

Lauren is really great so please Mock you can have your opinion but she wasn't stiff not to me :(
