Is there a problem with cliques on the forum?
 

I understand how friendship groups form on sites likes this, it's understandable. I actually think I get on with most people on here, in general terms, when having discussions. However when it comes to forum games, I have definitely noticed that there's a group, or groups of people who stick together and if one doesn't like you the whole pack doesn't like you. I am discussing this because there was recently a thread on why it is difficult finding new players for games, and this is definitely a contributing factor when the same group of friends playing games together always make it to the end.

That's why there's no voting in my games coming up this year (apart from when it comes to the winner) because why be motivated to put your time and effort into playing a fun game for you to then be ostracised and thrown out because you're not in a group?

There is a major one who are going round attacking people including me and i have let the mods know who they are and they can deal with it

Basically this group will call you a troll and campaign for you to be banned if you go against their opinion

Hmm interesting. That's really sad if it's true. I don't want to name names because I don't want an argument and then for this thread to be closed but I think the issue needs addressing. There are rules in games where you can't discuss who you are going to vote for, which is fine in real life for a group of people who don't know each other, but it doesn't really work on a forum because it makes the players who aren't in the group feel left out.

Talking about games there is at least one person who fixes the results of the games he hosts

Yes I'm conversations I understand. But in games context, if there are 12 players and 1 is a newbie, that newbie stands no chance because a group of friends aren't going to stab each other's in the back. There's an unspoken alliance in everything.

Well then that person needs reporting and their game cancelled.

It also kind of annoys me when people in a clique go "there's no group your crazy" but then the whole group make it to the end and you're the first one to go :confused:

But I guess people who do this are usually teenagers so I can kind of understand their childish attitudes around cliques.

idk because there's some who is still on tibb bb who doesn't have the whole friendship thing. (not sure if they have been nominated at some point when i was away for a week) and the Bachelor.Y.winter won over people i talk to more.

It's sad that people, out of their own greed of wanting to win, have ruined the chances of new people wanting to play.

Like if TiBB Big Brother was my first experience of playing a game, know that that first impression would make me never play a game again.

See prior comment on how clique members continually refute the fact that they're in a clique. I'll be nice and work with anyone who is nice to me, not just because I've been friends with them and want to please their egos.

I wouldn't really know since I haven't paid attention to that area of tibb in about 2 years but from a semi-outside perspective it's not as bad as it has been in the past?

I know i have been attacked by 5 people in the chat thread who all have a kik group including one who said i should be banned because i said Cell Block H was breaking boundaries before Bad Girls now if that isnt a clique then what is?

I'm not in a clique though I'm just friends with people. I swear to god some of you think people have a biiig group chat where we pick our next target and argue with them. The forum isn't like that anymore.

So explain how when one of you lot are in an argument the rest show up all at once gang handling members?

Me too. I talk to most people really well those who talk to me too. i don't stay in one group. I'm a floater.

I'd say the chat thread is more a casual friend group than a clique, but I've never had drama in there so can't comment on ganghanded :joker:

Who are these people? I'll happily debate them on the subject of Prisoner cell block H vs Bad Girls.

I can't think of a clique on this forum? Not one that causes a significant problem anyway. Coming from someone who has been in a 'forum clique' - I think you just don't get along with certain members and you can't just accuse them of being in a clique because of that.

We don't. The argument you keep referring to about Cell Block or whatever it was called was because everyone was active in the chat thread st the time and disagreed with you saying it revolutionised how we see TV today or whatever it was...

I'm not accusing anyone being in a clique because of that. I'm talking about my observations and my perspective. It's often the ones who are in groups who don't actually realise it.
