My family think I am an alcoholic

5 bottles of drink...even my nan is encouraging me.

Niamh. 23-05-2017 02:55 PM

Your nan is encouraging you to do what?

Josy 23-05-2017 02:56 PM

I don't really understand, they think youre an alcoholic because you have 5 bottles of drink? or they bought you 5 bottles of drink?

Josy 23-05-2017 02:57 PM

Also it's Tuesday afternoon why are you drinking

Amy Jade 23-05-2017 03:05 PM

I had them as presents. Definately not drinking at 4pm don't worry just finding the fact so many of my family buy me bottles of alcohol  My auntie bought me vodka and said 'may as well get you something you'll use'.

My nan bought me a bottle of Limoncello

Niamh. 23-05-2017 03:09 PM

ahhh  I hope they don't think you're an alcoholic because if they do they're not dealing with it very well :fan:

I was literally on the verge of tears the other day, as I was a year sober at the beginning of this month then realised I'd ate a chicken risotto with wine in it <\3

user104658 23-05-2017 08:07 PM

Are you student aged? When I was 21 I swear I got something like 10 bottles of Jack Daniels :joker:. I mean yes it was gone in under a month but still... People could have been a bit more imaginative.

Also, my dad still buys me and my wife bottles of wine for Christmas / anniversaries etc. when I've told him literally dozens of times that we don't drink in the house! Ever!

I am yeah, in college

I don't like drinking in the house unless my mum has a party. I get drunk very quickly so I normally end up being a mess and having to be put to bed.

Cal. 23-05-2017 09:11 PM

I only get alcoholic presents too nowadays. Not that I'm complaining.

When you get to a certain age I guess most think money/alcohol

Josy 24-05-2017 06:49 AM

Aww I understand now lol

That's all we seem to get these days too is alcohol gifts, we still have litres of vodka in the cupboard from xmas  we generally don't drink it unless we take a notion for making long vodkas with it

I used to drink. But not any more. :p Living in the real world is a better thrill!

I don't smoke or take mild drugs. NOTHING. ;)

And no hangovers. :D

Mystic Mock 26-05-2017 03:50 PM

21st Birthday means loads of Whisky for myself?:amazed:

lostalex 27-05-2017 10:47 AM

are you happy?

lostalex 27-05-2017 10:48 AM

alcoholics are not happy. if you are very unhappy, and you drink too much then maybe you have a problem.

but if you are happy then you don't have a problem, fv<k the haters.

lostalex 27-05-2017 10:50 AM

I'm an alcoholic. :(

Ronald. 27-05-2017 11:03 AM

Every one buys me bottles of drink for my birthday or Christmas. It's the go to gift for Ron - a bottle of whiskey. I have cupboards of the stuff. Get birthday cards with a picture of a bottle of booze on too! I love a few down the pub, but I drink to enjoy and be sociable - I'm no alcoholic. R.

lostalex 27-05-2017 12:05 PM

you're only an alcoholic if you want to stop drinking but you can't.

if you cannot stop drinking even though you want to, and it's hurting your life, then you should try to find help.

alcoholism is a real disease, just like anorexia. if you need help you need to find it. i know it seems simple to just think, i can just stop drinking. but it's like for an anorexic person, saying they should just eat more. it's a real disease and it need real professional treatment.
