Football League thread 2017/18

A thread to discuss the other English football leagues that are not the Premier League

Denver 30-05-2017 11:32 AM

Paul Lambert has been sacked as Wolves boss and replaced with former Porto and Valencia manager Nuno Espírito Santo

Denver 04-08-2017 05:54 PM

Kicks off tonight

Denver 04-08-2017 05:55 PM

I think promotion to the PL is between 10-12 clubs this season

Crimson Dynamo 04-08-2017 06:14 PM

So annoyed that the disgusting and vile Colin Murray is doing the Saturday night highlights show

To get rid of Lynsey Hipgrave and George Riley is madness

The EFL are so unhappy at Channel 5’s decision to hire Colin Murray as host of their Saturday night highlights show that they have written to their clubs telling them they did not endorse it.

Unbelievable

Drew. 04-08-2017 06:23 PM

Colin Murray will do a far better job than those two clueless scrubs ever did, will definitely be tuning in to watch it this season

Murray does not even like football, he is a yes man fake

totally insincere and hounded out of talksport for being unlikeable

Locke. 04-08-2017 06:32 PM

Talksport would have to sack everyone and start from scratch if they were getting rid of people for being unlikable

Crimson Dynamo 04-08-2017 06:49 PM

Great to have the footy back tho. Got the Black cats on

:hee:

Denver 04-08-2017 06:58 PM

1-0 Derby

He left due to the Sun getting involved with Talksport, show him the respect he deserves

King Gizzard 04-08-2017 09:14 PM

Murray >> Everyone >> those two last year

And hope the guests they have are a lot better than Gray and that idiot Virgo

Mystic Mock 05-08-2017 09:23 PM

We're in a **** street after that defeat to Ipswich as that's a relegation candidate with us gifted 3 points due to ****ty defending.

Denver 06-08-2017 02:06 AM

Redknapp will be bringing in a brand new sqaud on deadline day

Novo 06-08-2017 02:54 AM

Proper daylight robbery that point Norwich got at Fulham from the looks of the highlights, Ayite and Aluko ripping them a new one

Novo 06-08-2017 02:57 AM

Barrie McKay getting the Winner for Forest and then Garner for Ipswich (who's been on fire in pre season as well) since leaving Rangers , probably less pressure at these mid table settlers who attract 30,000 rather then the 50,000

Hopefully they'll be De Gea, Diego Costa, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Eden Hazard. Along with Dele Alli, Christian Erikssen, and Harry Kane.

King Gizzard 15-08-2017 08:59 PM

Anyone got a glass of bleach

Drew. 15-08-2017 10:12 PM

Black Dagger 15-08-2017 10:13 PM

Denver 15-08-2017 10:16 PM

MTVN 09-09-2017 10:40 PM

MTVN 07-10-2017 05:34 PM

Robbed of a win today against top of the league. Corner turned, we're staying up

Shaun 11-12-2017 07:31 PM

Can't believe Bristol City are bringing Premier League football to the south-west for the first time

Mystic Mock 28-12-2017 07:12 PM

The 48th best team in the country will be demolishing the insignificant Leeds on Saturday.

Shaun 28-12-2017 07:15 PM

Mock you do realise it's 44th right? With there only being 20 in the Prem :p

Some slight good news for you I guess

Shaun 29-12-2017 08:41 PM

Preston :clap1:

I was kinda optimistic about Bristol City getting promoted but it's looking more and more likely :flutter:

Denver 30-12-2017 03:53 PM

Thanks Shaun, tbh I've forgot to edit our position on my custom status. I might leave it at 48th though until the season is over.:joker:

Mystic Mock 29-04-2018 06:03 AM

I'm still shocked that I put 48th instead of 44th at the time.:joker:

But anyway here's my predictions on the fixtures for the teams in the relegation battle in the Championship.

Birmingham vs Fulham - Fulham win
Cardiff vs Reading - Cardiff win
Preston vs Burton - draw
Derby vs Barnsley - Barnsley win
Bolton vs Nottingham Forest - Bolton win

Making the points tally up like this.

19th - Barnsley - 44 points
20th - Reading - 43 points
21st - Birmingham - 43 points
22nd - Bolton - 43 points
23rd - Burton - 42 points

We stay up on goal difference if my prediction is correct, and as long as Bolton doesn't whack Forest, or we don't get whacked against Fulham.
