I had "Closer" written down on my shopping list for tomorrow. I've just changed it to "New" instead. Thanks, chilled. Can't wait.

kaphc 20-05-2003 08:56 AM

Ooooopss!! And I thought it was "Closer" they were in. Sorry everyone!! My only defence is that there are so many magazines springing up trying to compete with heat that it's easy to get them muddled up!!!

rachb 20-05-2003 09:07 AM

Enjoy!!!

rachb 20-05-2003 09:08 AM

Sorry about my hopeless scanner here is page 2

Romantic Old Bird 20-05-2003 09:40 AM

Rachb, thank you so much, that is fantastic.

Looking at that, I just can't imagine them ever splitting up. Great.

Love the bit about Paul going to work every day with glitter on his face!

That has SO cheered me up, you can't imagine!:colour::love::colour::love::colour:

Kaz 20-05-2003 10:18 AM

Thanks, rachb - aren't they brilliant pictures? Fan-bloody-tastic!

Just had to get this on my way to work this morning - so what if it made me a bit late.

Call me a soppy old sod, but I just couldn't stop smiling after I'd read the article. I was so happy that they're so happy together. http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung...smiley-061.gif

Love 'em! http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung...smiley-007.gif

P.S. I'm in the process of typing up the article for those who can't get the magazine, so please be patient.

Romantic Old Bird 20-05-2003 12:53 PM

Well, I've just been out to buy my copy.

I'm thrilled to bits with this article. It's all when we get married and when we have children. Not an if in sight.

Paul is right of course, putting a ring on someones finger doesn't change anything about a good relationship. But I have got news for him - he is as good as married already!

:hello::thumbs::hello::colour::colour::love::love: :colour::colour::hello::thumbs::hello:

Romantic Old Bird 20-05-2003 01:09 PM

I don't know if you have finished typing it out kaz, but I have scanned it as well and I don't know if this is any clearer. If it is, you can save your energies for WORK!

Kaz 20-05-2003 02:23 PM

That's a lot clearer, ROB. Thanks very much for that - saved my weary fingers.

Still smiling yet.

WILDCHILD 20-05-2003 02:35 PM

Wow!! This is so cool - I wish we could rewind it all and BB2 could be on this year, i wanna see h&p story unfold again!! i love em!!

BusyBee 20-05-2003 05:07 PM

All I can say is aahhhhhhhh aint love grand:love::love::love:

BusyBee 20-05-2003 05:14 PM

Just read the article through properly and my claim to fame is that I'VE BEEN TO COLLEYS IN READING.

Its great, though not as good as the one in Bristol. They dont have a menu and bring each course out for you to look at before deciding what you want. AND THE DESERTS - AS H AND P DISCOVERED YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY AS YOU LIKE AND THEY ARE L U S H :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Putting a ring on someone's finger doesn't mean your relationship suddenly improves, and anyway we're too young.
Is this the first hint that all is not well. Does this imply that the relationship is not all it could be because it needs to be improved ?

What is with the We are too young.

Legally that is a load of rubbish

I know a couple who were married at 17, and they are still together many years down the line

What is with this "We are not ready yet", are they still uncertain if they are supposed to be together ?

What does it mean to be ready ?

Is anyone ever truely ready ?

Am I missing something here ?

The probability of a split may be extremely very low at the moment, but it is not zero, and the comment such as Putting a ring on someone's finger doesn't mean your relationship suddenly improves is worrying.

Oh Sticks :bawling::bawling::bawling:
don't spoil it for us!
I think Helen has a lot going on in her life right now with her new salon and I would imagine Helen would want to have a great deal of input when planning her wedding.plenty of time to get lots of glitter and all that!!
I think this probably explains the' wrong time to do it bits'
As much as I would love to hear wedding bells:love:I think they are being sensible and the important thing is that they are happy together which they obviously are:love::love:
plus they are probably waiting until they think we have all forgotten about them:nono:
then it will be more of a suprise:thumbs:
:love::love::love::love::love::love:

Mairi 20-05-2003 06:18 PM

Some people just feel too young to get married at 25 or even 30, Sticks. We're all different. Helen obviously doesn't want a family yet and I don't think they'll get married until she does. Maybe in a year or two.

I bought my copy of "New" today and the pictures of them both show how much in love they are. They are totally "together" and their happiness just shines out.

However, I do have a little whinge. Helen says she'd love to get married in a big castle in Wales but adds "we definitely wouldn't sell the pictures". Please Helen don't deny us that pleasure.

I disagree, it would cheapen the whole thing if they sold out to a "highest bidder"

As to them getting married at all, there is an old civil service maxim, Believe it when it happens!

BTW the gloom quotient today has been dangerously too low.

Work personnel are busy rectifying this fault and there is no need to

Panic !!!!!

Thankyou

Memorandum

To: Resident Prophet of Doom

From: Good Fairy

It has been brought to my attention that you are constantly seeking to undo my good work by your over-zealous application of despair and doubt on the populace.

As you are well aware, we each have our quota to fulfill, and can I in future ask you to restrain yourself to this month's principal targets - the Chief Executive of Glaxo Smith Klien - Msr Jean-Pierre Garnier, and Captain James Ingram

I admit that the wife swap with Jade was a master stroke, but you overlooked the fact that Lucretia Borgia has now taken home a fresh faced and energetic young man in place of her gruesome husband

I will be watching your progress with interest.

In the meantime, Mr Clarke and Ms Adams are following my plans exactly.....they are young, happy and carefree. They do not require a contract to be fully committed to one another.

They do however intend to enter into such an agreement before such time that they choose to have little ones.

I am content, and I feel my work is all but done

Amy 20-05-2003 07:55 PM

It's really nice to read something new on H&P  I'm glad they are really happy together :hello: and the pics are great  :hello:  Thanks Rach for posted it up :wavey:

We are are aware of your quotas, however at the recent away day of the Mortals Liason Group, from which you were absent :nono:, it was agreed that too much joy and excitement was having a deleterious effect on mortals and flights of fantasy were considered too dangerous to allow unfettered indulgence.

As the only mortal beings in the group we were asigned the task of delivering more doses of "cold harsh reality" and higher levels of "Bringing crashing down to Earth"

Had you showed up, you could have had your say, but there we go.

As for this month's principal targets - the Chief Executive of Glaxo Smith Klien - Msr Jean-Pierre Garnier, and Captain James Ingram. It seems obvious you have not receved the updated targets list, which were handed out at the Mortals Liasion Group away day.

We posted a copy of the list off to you in an internal envelope. Please check your pigeon hole in case it has arrived, assuming the runners have not mucked up the post system AGAIN!!!!!

We are planning another away day for the Mortal Liasions group in the near future and we hope you will be able to attend this one.

I must take exception to your foul slur against my commitment to my duties vv attendance at the Mortals Liaison Group.

As you are no doubt well aware, those of us with 'wands-on' duties are not afforded the luxury of flexible working practices which are enjoyed by those in purely management consultancy roles.

On the day in question I was called out to provide an emergency happy ending. However I did phone in my apologies to the Interdeity Cooperation Liaison Facilitator in good time. Please ensure that the minutes are duly amended to reflect this.

It appears to me that the only good thing to come out of your interminable and alarmingly regular meetings is a temporary hiatus in the doom distributation process for their duration.

I will continue to do my best to scatter love, peace aqnd friendship wherever my wand can reach.

If you and your colleagues are not happy, I suggest you refer your complaints to a higher authority.

At my time of life I will not be intimidated by a few wet behind the ears beaurocrats.

As far as I am concerned you can 'Bite Me!!'

Bravo, Good Fairy - you go girlfriend! :elephant: :hello: :elephant:

More power to your wand!

BusyBee 21-05-2003 10:20 AM

RIGHT ON GOOD FAIRY - WE SHALL HAVE NO PROPHETS OF DOOM WHERE HELEN AND PAUL ARE CONCERNED.

Just remember Paul always said in the house that he wasnt going to get married for years - so he's obviously keeping to his guns.

I am NOT going to get drawn into disecting every little phrase - they ARE happy and they WILL stay together. I am unanimous in that.

:hugesmile::hugesmile::hugesmile::hugesmile:

As to getting married in a large castle Oh Helen no - how will we be able to have a TIBB outing to see you on your happy day if you do that.

:nono::nono::nono:

BTW if anyone read the bit about Sophie and Lee, although they are engaged they arent necessarily getting married straight away. Not that I can stand the pair of them and certainly wont be buying any photos of them.

herindoors 21-05-2003 01:05 PM

Perhaps Helen and Paul will have the same wedding planner that Helens best friend had .Instead of photographs we might be able to watch them marry on the wedding planner program that would be really good it would put the finishing touches to their romance.

Maggie 21-05-2003 02:57 PM

It would be such a shame if there's, no coverage at all :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

But it is thier day, so when ever it happens I wish them Health, Happiness and some little Helen's and Paul's

We checked with the Interdeity Cooperation Liaison Facilitator office and found a half scribbled note of your call. A number of us have had trouble with this section as they are completely useless at the moment. Which is why you message was never passed on.

This was one of the gripes we raised at the awayday.

Your apologies will be duely noticed in the copy of the awayday minute.

Getting on to your other points, I hear what you say about interminable meetings, as a number of entities from our section could not see the point and it just seems a junket to get out of the office.

However, this is a false perception as the head of Mortal World Liaison Group considers these as vital for improvement of Group Cohesion and improving the Business Delivery Dynamic. We had an interesting afternoon trying to build the tallest free standing tower out of plastic tubes to improve our team building. (Our team did not win :bawling:)

What some entites think of the head of Mortal World Liaison Group will not be repeated here

I must advise you that the next awayday could prove critical for your section, as it is scheduled for review.

One of the points raised for discussion at the next meeting is that the office of the Good Fairy is seen as an anachronism, and there is discussion that it will be incorporated into the Fates section.

Magic wands are not seen in as good a light as they used to be, for reasons of political correctness. (There is some kind of symbolism there but the person raising it said it was not something they could repeat in polite company :conf::blush:)

I look forward to meeting you at our next Awayday later in the year.

Date and venue to be arranged

miss little glitzee 22-05-2003 04:24 PM

Julia L 22-05-2003 08:59 PM

I bought that yesterday (before I joined this great message board, lol!) and read it today.

Helen & Paul's interview was my favourite - they're a really sweet couple (I need to get my hands on a BB2 vid now!) and I think their relationship will last a long time - I hope they get married in a few years!

I realise you still like to be out in the field, and I understand that the lap-top / magic compact has been invaluable with logging in to your e-mail account, but I think it might be in your best interest to visit the office.

There have been soundings from the Interdeity Cooperation Liaison Facilitator office about another "intermnible" awayday in light of the move to the new premises. One of the items for the Mortals Liason Groups is the abolishion of the post of "Good Fairy" and the transfer of any work, either to the Fate of Mortals team or even to an outside agency.

Meanwhile, we are being rushed off our feet as they have decided that we should be dealing with despondency and dispair as well as doom and gloom.

With the changes being mooted, none of us want to raise any objection. We have been promised more staff, perhaps you may want to transfer in when your section is abolished. I here the redundancy packages on offer are not that inspiring.
