Dirty perv in work

I am fuming, today in work I was on the fast scan lanes and a man came to me saying he didn't know how to use them and could I help, which I did even though he is a regular, after I had helped him he reached over and pulled my jacket and touched my boob, I pulled back and he said he was trying to see my name badge.

I never said much but then on my break I mentioned it and another person said 'ohh Jim? the one in the shorts? He's done that to such and such too'. Made me feel sick this afternoon, dirty old bastard trying to touch up young girls

RileyH 08-10-2017 04:11 PM

should've smacked him

Firewire 08-10-2017 04:17 PM

That’s sexual harassment, you could’ve reported him to the police

Nicky91 08-10-2017 04:17 PM

disgusting i feel bad for you Amy :(

Mystic Mock 08-10-2017 05:09 PM

So he gets away with being a perv because he is an old bastard?

Crimson Dynamo 08-10-2017 05:25 PM

Your manager should deal with this but you need to make a complaint to the manager. Sexual abuse if not acceptable and should be prosecuted.

Daniel-X 08-10-2017 05:26 PM

Report him

smudgie 08-10-2017 06:45 PM

He should be reported and banned from the premises for life.:fist:

Daniel. 08-10-2017 06:57 PM

I think we should call the police :Nadia:

UserSince2005 08-10-2017 07:08 PM

I have my arse grabbed in the gym once.

I made a thread about it I think.

At the time i was shocked like you, but looking back on it it was kind of hot.

Vicky. 08-10-2017 07:18 PM

So common from my experience. Any job working with the public, expect some degree of groping. Bosses don't care, and police laugh and say its part of the job D: Doesn;t seem to happen to males as often as females, but even some blokes I worked with in my teens used to get idiots groping them

Vicky. 08-10-2017 07:19 PM

I should clarify maybe, the bit about police, I did not report someone for groping alone. This was groping and trying to drag me into the loos. Response was basically...nothing actually bad happened, he was just trying it on, get over it. I was 17.

Crimson Dynamo 08-10-2017 07:23 PM

tough for the police in a you against him scenario yes but the store can ban people without the law

Jordan. 08-10-2017 07:25 PM

We always get creepy old men at work I remember one got banned because he made an innuendo about one of the checkout gals groping his banana :skull:

UserSince2005 08-10-2017 07:36 PM

actually i just found the thread where i reported my sexual assault and everyone made a joke out of it and laughed at me, and the thread was closed.

funny how when i girl makes the same thread people give the complete opposite response.

sexism once again on tibb

Did you report it to your manager, if he is a regular the manager should have a word

the truth 08-10-2017 09:52 PM

I've been groped in taxis by women and the odd gay bloke they wereally a bit tipsy I didn't complain but it's rare I'm not exactly Brad Pitt but another driver always gets his pen's grabbed

Oh shut up. You just said you were loving it.

jaxie 08-10-2017 10:39 PM

You should definitely report it, you shouldn't have to put up with being groped at work.

Needs reporting, clearly not an accident, and makes you think how far has he gone or will go to get a fix, has he touched children, if there was doubt then let it go but clearly a sex pest.

Just checked that thread and the deleted posts in it. You were basically making a joke out of sexual abuse. Thats why it was closed.

ethanjames 09-10-2017 12:31 PM

always report it. nobody should be aloud to do that in any circumstance.

Gusto Brunt 09-10-2017 04:48 PM

Disgusting filthy piece of scum. I hate 'people' like that.

Amy Jade 09-10-2017 05:16 PM

I mentioned it today to my section leader and to be honest he made me feel stupid for speaking up.

He said was he actually trying to see your badge though? I said well if he was he clearly shouldn't be attempting to touch me anyway especially where he did and I said other people knew who it was straight away and I was just uncomfortable in general and he said 'ok Amy we'll send someone in to look after you if he comes in while you're in ok?'

So basically wish I'd just kept my mouth shut and just mentioned it to someone if he comes to me again and they can take over

That's ridiculous. And quite patronising.

That's another way of saying "This issue is yours and yours alone so we'll send someone to look after you when he's around". Pathetic.

caprimint 09-10-2017 08:35 PM

Yeah not a good response at all, sounds like he didn't really know what to suggest

Marsh. 10-10-2017 06:40 PM

If it happens again go over his head.

The boss you spoke to not the perv.

Vanessa 10-10-2017 07:05 PM

It happened to me in my previous workplace. The guy kept grabbing my arse at work. I was glad when i was moved to another department. :fist:

Absolutely not acceptable. Your section leader has a responsibility to look after his staff, it comes under 'duty of care'. I hope you have the courage to take this complaint the next step up from your section leader and be sure to tell that person what your section leader said. If you don't want to take it that far, you need to approach your section leader next time you're in and tell him you are not satisfied with his response and would like him to reconsider what's to be done about the man who groped you. Before he has the chance to reply, you need to tell him that you'd prefer not to take this to his manager but won't hesitate to do so if he can't sort it out.

Sexual harassment is unacceptable. It's not part of the job at all l. We all have the right to work without fear if some twat getting too close.
