i will do as I have done for the last 40+ years .... go down the pub and get bladdered

smudgie 21-12-2017 07:33 AM

If we don't get to the butchers in Thirsk on Saturday then we will pop over on Christmas Eve, lovely quaint atmosphere with cobbled market square.
Hopefully just chill out in the evening and watch some decent TV with family.
One thing I won't be doing, first time ever, is be stuck upstairs wrapping presents. All done yesterday:cheer2:

Strictly Jake 21-12-2017 09:17 AM

Seeing my relatives that live away they are coming to my mums and we are having a big roast dinner mmmm and watching some good telly probably

Ashley. 21-12-2017 09:32 AM

Driving up to Watford to see relatives, out for a meal in the evening, then wine and Christmas Carols around the piano... We're fairly old-fashioned when it comes to Christmas Eve, but I love it.

Enjoy it Annie, Christmas is not the same once Santa is no longer in the picture, it loses a little bit of magic

we used to take ours for a long walk, then to the cinema and for something to eat that took up most of the day and it is something they remember fondly.

Plan on a leisurely day, go out for something to eat at some point, a Christmas movie, scrabble, make some telephone calls, and wine..

That's because you're banned from all the events due to your drunken antics over the years at Christmas!

user104658 21-12-2017 11:58 AM

I'll be at the in-laws so probably alternating between chasing the littlest so that she doesn't break things / try to ride the dogs (they are Jack Russells half her size...), and hiding in a corner with my PS Vita, which I found out last time I was there, can remote play my PS4 300 miles away without lag :omgno:. It can even turn it on and off remotely. Yiss.

Is that mainly an English thing? :suspect: I thought that would be right up most Scots street as well

I shall be working 9-5 Christmas Eve then travelling to a town near Milton Keynes where we are spending Christmas with some relatives. Not too happy about it as it's the best night of the year in our local pub. Think we are going for a curry Christmas eve as well which is a bit rogue

It's all about Boxing Day!

-Sue- 21-12-2017 01:00 PM

family movies - sherry - pizza (delivered) - sherry - connect 4 - sherry - family films - sherry etc

Do as little as possible eat drink & be merry :D with my family :D

Adamw92 21-12-2017 01:19 PM

Sitting at home in my PJ’s and dressing gown watching Christmas movies with lots of snacks and some hot chocolate.

Eddie. 21-12-2017 01:19 PM

So my family really likes to come over, and last till like 3am on christmas day...
I'm the one who does all the cooking (unfortunatley), and my fam comes over at like 9 or 10 in the evening...then we eat with Christmas music playing...stay up till midnight, after that the little ones open their gifts, as well as us...and at 1, I go to bed, my young cousins stay in the spare room...while the rest drink (I do not drink, surprise, surprise, do not want any hangovers for the mass at the morning...)

Tom4784 21-12-2017 01:22 PM

I'm at work in the afternoon but I'll go out for a drink with friends afterwards and then do our traditional Christmas film marathon.
