I can truthfully say, that I didn't consider luke a to be a male like me, but I would say the same for every other male contestant that has ever been on the show. I have never identified with any of them, and probably never will :shrug:

I don't think Livia is being transphobic at all, she has said she supports India and is happy for her but she simply sees trans women as slightly different women than a person born a woman. She hasn't called her any less of a woman than herself though.

There's been women on the forum saying India is not a female like them so I just wanted to make a poll to compare and contrast really!

I obviously see the biological factor, but the fact is she had a sex change and is now a woman, no matter if she's a biological woman or not. She was trapped in the wrong body, so has always been a woman.

I'm not normally very PC actually, but to deny India being a true woman is silly.

I deny she is a true woman.

But I do not deny that she is a trans woman and in every way my equal.

A transwoman is a transwoman and a transman is a transman.

But 'rights' wise I do think they should be regarded as the sex they want to be...IF fully transitioned.

But I do think the current few exceptions should remain in the law as it stands for even fully transitioned people (ie. female only rape crisis centres, a transsexual woman could not work there as its female only)

Transsexual - a person who emotionally and psychologically feels that they belong to the opposite sex.
Transgender - denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex.
