I now have three duvets on my single bed

Two low tog single duvets weren't warm enough.:fist:

So I went out and bought a high tog double duvet and draped it on my single bed, OVER the two single duvets.

I don't like the central heating on when I am in bed. I like natural warmth.:hee:

I bet you're all glad to hear my duvet news.:joker:

Vanessa 17-01-2018 01:31 PM

It's not that cold, is it? I sleep with two duvets on, i like to keep snuggly

Was so cold last night. Yeah freezing. Like Russia.

Cherie 17-01-2018 01:42 PM

We never have the heating on at night, just one duvet and a throw at the end that we use if its chilly

Niamh. 17-01-2018 01:44 PM

I did set the heating to come on for a half an hour a couple of times last night alright. Only have a duvet and a patch work quilt on our bed

Alf 17-01-2018 01:48 PM

Haven't you got any thermal long Johns?

15 tog duvet plus a lovely thick throw, and my head doesn’t peep out from hibernation until hubby pops the heating on and brings me a lovely hot mug of coffee.
Unfortunately I put my head back down after breakfast and was caught napping by a friend.......at 2.20pm.

Yeah looking forward to tonight to try my new 15 tog out.:joker:

Try putting another duvet underneath your bed sheet that will add extra warmth too :) although it will mean everytime you turn over the fitted sheet goes *ping* lol and you wake up wearing it round your knees

You people are such chilly mortals. I have one duvet... I get very hot in bed. Which isn't nearly as interesting as it sounds.

We have just been using one duvet this winter, there's me, my boyfriend and the two cats in the bed so we all warm each other up. The only problem is when one of us goes to bed before the other and ends up having to warm the late joiner. :skull:

Off topic slightly but does anyone here get 'restless legs' lol

caprimint 18-01-2018 07:36 PM

I had a 13 tog duvet before and even with the window open it was still getting hot, it's awful waking up too hot

armand.kay 18-01-2018 08:37 PM

Have you guys considered double glazing? Insulation? Heating? Pijamas?

What's the trouble!, can't keep them together?

They reckon electric blankets are suppose to help  , but i've never tried one and you'd have to unplug it so it doesn't overheat causing a fire hazard.

I always found electric blankets a bit unsafe. There is a tendency to put one's full body weight on one as you turn in the night.

I don't think you're meant to leave it plugged in , it's just to keep you warm but you have to unplug it as it's dangerous.

There's always old school hot water bottle :joker: . Or bed socks .

I used one 25 years ago when I was 10 and they had electric blankets that were meant to be kept plugged in during the night. I guess you're right, they won't be making those now. Too dangerous.

Magnesium cures that... one with Malic acid preferably

I've had three duvets on my queen bed my whole adulthood. Summer and winter when I'm alone.
