Erm, there's a reason for anyone's opinions.

Whether the reason for hers are her age, her religion, her social status, her job, her personality, her terrible fashion sense or because her mother told her makes no change to the DEFINITION of those opinions.

She doesn't think homosexuals are equal to heterosexuals and they don't deserve the same rights = prejudice = homophobic.

Lilac hills 25-01-2018 10:16 PM

Ann queen of the gays

Apparently you need to be spitting on gay couples and beating camp men to a pulp to be classed as homophobic?

Yes, never mind the political career built off of homophobic views, Russell Grant just said she was nice on Strictly so I must have been wrong all along!

She's pally with Russell Grant, so it means she DIDN'T vote against giving the gay population of Great Britain any kind of equality?

Ok.

Brilliant. She probably loves him as a friend dearly, but as a gay man is not worthy of the rights of the straights.

But she loves everything else about him so she's not homophobic. ;)

Then he's either a self-hating gay or is making up any old excuse to try and cover an old friend's back

Because I don't know about you, but I can't exactly picture Ann and Russell hitting up Heaven on a Friday night

Lilac hills 25-01-2018 10:27 PM

Ok but does her not wanting to change the definition of the word marriage reduce her as a person in any way

joeysteele 25-01-2018 10:30 PM

Coming from the man who feeds on people's superstition believing he can tell them truthfully horoscopes.
I'll stick with what Ann did as to voting for lgbt rights, which is total fact, not panto superstition.

No, but not wanting gays to be allowed civil partnerships, marriage or adoption rights shows she believes homosexuals are lesser people in many ways.

It would have saved a lot of hassle if you'd just said outright that you're defending her because you agree with her views

She doesnt think they are 'lesser' people she is a Roman catholic and follows her religion also a traditionalist, and prudish which might seem dated now but she brought up in that time.

Well its not agreeing with her but children do work better if they have both sexes as role models something that single parents or same sex parents cant giv them

Jase. 25-01-2018 10:38 PM

I'm not sure why you think the reason behind her homophobia changes the fact she is homophobic?

We all have reasons and experiences that shape our opinions and views on the world. Religion and a prudish attitude being hers doesn't change anything.

She does think they are lesser as she doesn't believe they deserve equal rights. If people are NOT equal then there is a tier going on and homosexuals are below heterosexuals (don't be rude :nono:).

If you don't believe in equality and believe people's sexuality or age or sex or race dictate how many rights they should be afforded then you are prejudiced.

Whether that prejudice is formed by your religion or not doesn't change this.

I mean it’s been documented the adverse psychological effect not having both a mother and a farther figure growing up can have. Not saying anyone should be deprived of rights because of it just trying to show there’s some merit to that sentiment

Well, there you go. That's the difference between a non-prejudice opinion (your post just now) and a prejudiced one (Ann using this to vote against gay rights).

You hold that sentiment but don't think it means gays should be less than equal. Ann clearly does.
