Shane refusing his letter from home

Has anyone ever done that before?

Jamie89 28-01-2018 08:42 PM

I really liked it from him anyway, the way he thinks about things and who he is as a person

Yaki da 28-01-2018 08:43 PM

I'm amazed more don't do that.

joeysteele 28-01-2018 08:44 PM

I can understand his reasons and it's his choice.

Jase. 28-01-2018 09:04 PM

Haven't watched yet. Why did he refuse it? :(

Matthew. 28-01-2018 09:07 PM

CBB11, everybody did except Speidi

susie q 28-01-2018 09:19 PM

Sounds like he just likes to keep his work and home life separate. Respect to him for that.

Niamh. 28-01-2018 09:19 PM

I think i would aswell, it's too personal for tv tears etc

He said it might have been too emotional hearing from his kids and wife and it would have made him want to leave, which probably sounds a bit lame but it was actually really nice

Crimson Dynamo 28-01-2018 09:25 PM

Good lad

Withano 28-01-2018 09:41 PM

I always thought I'd do that.

Lewismacfarlane 28-01-2018 09:43 PM

I would refuse a letter if it was a visit that would be different

Paula D 28-01-2018 09:55 PM

I understood that. When I'm away I'll text my kids but won't ring them because it's too hard.

I don't think it's lame at all. It was a valid reason. Shane admitted he was a shy person and I can imagine he is the sort of guy that doesn't like to show his emotions in public. Everyone will be watching...I admired him for that.

:conf: I don't know . But you could tell he didn't want to get emotional , he's always so composed and calm . he's like the strong silent type :) bless him .

...yeah I agree, he knew what would ‘break’ him so he just didn’t go there in order to be able to stay...it was nice to see that ‘first’ though because it’s often thought ...oh, it’s only three weeks or four weeks or whatever and they’ll see their loved ones soon...and that may be so but that small time isn’t spent in a ‘normal’ environment...it’s spent in a very pressured and enclosed environment so three or four asks in the BB house wouldn’t equate to the same time in another environment, like him being touring as he said...when there is a completely different focus and not the same ‘enclosure’ with people who are essentially strangers...

AnnieK 29-01-2018 06:55 AM

Yeah completely understood his reasons. Don't think I could be that strong knowing their words were right there

He's so sweet  .

Vicky. 29-01-2018 07:21 AM

No I dont think anyone has done that before. I have thought in other series that I would be a bit torn as to whether to have it or not. Letters..I could ignore. Phonecalls/visits I could not though

Vicky. 29-01-2018 07:22 AM

Infact even receiving a video from the kids I don't think I could turn down...though it is extremely personal and should not really be broadcast on TV I think  along with it being ridiculously cheesy and boring to watch

I would. I think the letters from home thing is embarrassingly stupid.

Nicky91 29-01-2018 08:08 AM

i would refuse a letter from home as well, so well done Shane L :clap1:

Jase. 29-01-2018 08:09 AM

Bless him

Crimson Dynamo 29-01-2018 08:37 AM

my daughters would refuse to write to me as it would be "sooo embarrassing"

quite right too

bots 29-01-2018 08:40 AM

...did she, I don’t recall that...but then I try to block out many things about Katie Hopkins..maybe she was worried that the home letter had secretly been replaced with a letter from someone she had offended in the public...ooops...
