Scottish Amber warning for Weds firmed up just now and a bit grimmer. Saying that places in East can now expect up to 40cm
marc is doomed :skull: |
Chief Forecaster's assessment
Snow showers will bring variable snow cover, but parts of northeast England and Scotland are expected to see the most frequent and organised snow showers from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning. During this time, 5-10 cm of snow is expected quite widely. Where showers become organised though, most likely across Scotland, areas of 15-25 cm are likely, locally as much as 40 cm. Strong winds will lead to drifting of snow and severe wind chill, while lightning could be an additional hazard, particularly near coasts. This warning has been updated to include a greater part of the Central Belt and increase the impact level based on the latest information. |
Been none in Edinburgh so far but I'm kind of perched for a winter storm
|
Cats sat outside for about 10 seconds watching big flakes come down this morning, then their little paws got cold and they came in and hugged the radiators.
|
We've had some flurries , not sticking yet but it's bitterly cold.

Just tiny flurries on and off most afternoon here in North Wales but nothing at all now... Will see what happens as the night goes on.
|
had some flurries this morning and afternoon but not for long each time. So far no snow as yet here in Yorkshire. Urgh I hate snow especially when I have to drive to work, really don't like driving in the snow :-(

Need to stock up on wine |
Took me 1.5 hours to drive 3 miles this morning in Manchester. Quite a decent fall in the early morning but bright sunshine now so roads are now pretty clear. Looks pretty though
|
Snowed all through the night, really deep out there, well, 4inches rather than 4foot, but it looks gorgeous.:cheer2:
|
Nothing here, it completely missed us and dumped on Kent and East Anglia :hee:
|
Attention Central Scotland members

Its been weird here today - heavy snow one minute then the clouds clear and bright blue sky and sunshine then in a blink of an eye, blizzard like conditions.
