FFS - Claims now Brexit will affect Easter eggs

https://www.theguardian.com/politics...ster-chocolate

Really! It will help reduce tooth decay and weight problems then. Some scaremongers will seize every opportunity to moan. Pathetic.

Smithy 30-03-2018 06:24 PM

Honestly this is the last draw, cancel Brexit at once!

right?

Marsh. 30-03-2018 06:41 PM

10% added onto the price.

So your pound eggs become £1.10 eggs.

No. That will have no effect on tooth decay nor weight problems.

Barry. 30-03-2018 06:42 PM

Oh no!

Of course it will. Less people will buy them then - not necessarily a bad thing.

user104658 30-03-2018 06:51 PM

Thankfully no one on this site likes to moan.

Jordan. 30-03-2018 06:55 PM

It's what they deserve for buying into the commercialism of Easter.

We all do TS as I am sure you can testify to. But trying to use chocolate eggs as an excuse to stop Brexit and therefore overturn a pubic vote is something else entirely.

The people so hooked on chocolate their teeth are rotting and they're obese are gonna cease buying them because of a 10p increase?

And if they did they wouldn't just buy alternative chocolate/sugar snacks?

Na. I don't think so.

Na. I don't think so.

It might just give them that extra motivation. If not, they should be happy to pay an extra 10p.

Crimson Dynamo 30-03-2018 07:08 PM

will love eggs be affected?

:worry:

i cant ruin the TL's good Friday

Kizzy 30-03-2018 07:18 PM

I have a solution... Ferrero could begin production here? :)

smudgie 30-03-2018 07:31 PM

Ferrero is garbage.
Thornton is overpriced.
Stick to the 3 for a tenner in Tesco...other supermarkets are available.
Including Lidl and Aldi.:cheer2:

Oliver_W 30-03-2018 07:38 PM

Sensationalist rubbish with no substance from the Guardian? What ever next.

Withano 30-03-2018 07:43 PM

Try telling Ferrerro that - they think it is so important there is no dent in their excessive profit margin they think Brexit should be stopped!

LukeB 30-03-2018 08:06 PM

Cancel Brexit. I'm fed up of hearing about it. It should never have happened

Get on with it - then we can stop listening to the moans. No-one’s cancelling anything.

Kizzy 30-03-2018 08:10 PM

Honestly, the sooner this ****show gets on the road the better, I'm tired of people trying to undo what's been done, I'm tired of people who voted leave constantly revisiting the past and be all like 'EVIL REMOANERS!' because it's easier to focus on the past than the mistakes they've made. Let's start the slow descent into hell that will be this country over the next few years when May ****s everything up and we end up even further in the pockets of a Trump led US than we are already because we'll have bad deals with the EU in place because May's government is a farce.

The bed's been made, lie in it.

And here I was hoping we can go back to decent tasting chocolate again after the EU took four years debating rules to make it taste less pleasant. Walnut whips have never been as good since they went shiny!

Crimson Dynamo 31-03-2018 09:22 AM

white chocolate egg sales to soar as brown egg sales stall?

If you wish to respond to someone with a 'witty' retort, you should probably think of one that actually makes a lick of sense. I'm all for the democratic process which is why I said I'm against the idea of Brexit being taken back, people voted for it, now they've got to live it.
