These are two of the only current footballers I know!
I can’t engage in pretend masc chats at work if the only players I know don’t play! |
Bold moves by Gareth but have to agree with both. If I was to sum up Wilshire's season then the positives would be that at least he showed he can again play more than three games in a row and he was probably our best players in the group stage of the Europa league. Other than that - Nothing. If I was to mention the negative I'd have to have a five minute think about it to get my thoughts in order. He's on 90k a week with his contract up this year so if he thinks he's getting 150k a week he's dreaming. He simply doesn't deserve it.

Fair enough, Hart has been ****e and there's no point having too many keepers
|
Hart is quite a shocker, I can understand his form to a degree, but we have nobody else with his experience and a tournament is a perfect platform to find some form.
Very important position in the team is goalkeeper. I suppose it gives someone a chance to make a name for themselves. Wilshire doesn't seem Southgate's kind of player. |
When's the full squad announced?

The squad is supposed to be "progressive". I actually don't mind them taking a chance on new players. It's almost a certainty that they will progress past the first round so they have nothing to lose |

Dont jinx it. |
Anyone know what time the squad will be announced tomorrow?

Bold move...but justifiable.

Hart makes sense.
I'll have to see the 9/10 midfielders actually chosen before I decide on Wilshere. If he's chosen Livermore or Barkley again, for example, it's idiotic. The ones that should be going are: Lingard, Lallana, Loftus-Cheek, Cook, Wilshere, Alli, Sterling, Dier and Shelvey. Wouldn't totally be against Sessegnon going, either. I'd have said the Ox if he weren't injured. |
Alexander-Arnold is rumoured to be picked
Never heard of him |

it's not a squad that conjures any excitement

Joe Hart hasn't been the best so meh.
|
Can't really fathom why Cahill's been chosen over Smalling and Tarkowski.
|
Cahill????:conf:-Chelsea fans want him sold.
|
Was just looking at the squads and England is the only country where all the players play club football in their home country.

On merit they both didn't deserve to get picked imo as Joe Hart's hardly played, and Wilshere I just don't think has ever lived up to his hype, and does suffer from alot of injuries.
I know that the Media are mystified as to why Wilshere hasn't been picked, but for me not taking Hart is the bigger gamble as his relying on very inexperienced Goalkeepers to replace him. |

Butland - A reliable Goalkeeper that was the only player to actually play well for Stoke this season, and he was a Blues Goalkeeper aswell and that's one area that our Scouts are quite good at spotting, so I'd trust him not to choke on the occasion compared to Pickford and Pope. Walker - Obviously one of England's best defenders at the moment. Stones - He has been playing well for the champions so deserves a shot. Jones - A reliable player that will do a bit of the dirty work for the team. Young - A more modern and less talented version of Ashley Cole, can defend and attack so he is a good all-rounder to start with. Henderson - He'd be my captain of the team. Lingard - He has played really well for Man Utd this season, how he wasn't picked more often for the team was beyond me, he would definitely be in my starting 11. Alli Sterling Kane Vardy There's a few possible formations Southgate could go for with this starting 11 I feel that could be effective. |
Butland, lol.
