Resident Evil 2 Remake - Out now
 

Looks awesome :D I just hope it's for XBox One as well...

The first two were qunitessential horror survival games. Absolutely loved them, so I hope this one will be good. Hope there's lots of puzzles like in the originals.

The only thing that bugs me so far is that Claire looks really off. I'm perched for it though.

She looks a bit better in game, I guess she is younger here (also this is on the RE Engine, so they've probably updated everyone's looks, at least she isnt as different as Chris Redfield was lol)

Yeah, she looks better in that picture tbh but she does look like she's been less developed than Leon at this point. It's just in motion she looks...strange...I can't explain it.

I agree. Looks like Claire is not done yet in the picture. She looks different than her last game.

But I think it's good they do remakes, if for the purpose of allowing newer gamers to play a "classic"... it's fine really.

I wish there'd be a Dino Crisis remake <3 I recently played a ROM of the second one, it's awesome.

I just wish they had properly continued the series! DC2 ended on a cliffhanger and it was never resolved...

Oh I have nothing personal against the remake, it's just I tend to support how the product was originally made in the Video Game world 9 times out of 10.

Looks awesome, I was too young to be able to play the originals on PS1 but I loved the HD remasters they released a couple of years ago so I'm perched to continue the series with this.

Demo is out now.

I think you have 30 minutes and after that you can't play anymore.

I'm gonna play it later, really looking forward to it.

What's the "canon" order, is it Claire A-Leon B?

Claire A is canon because (spoiler I guess?)



Leon A or B could be considered canon as there's nothing in Resi 4 or 6 that contradicts either path. Although,



IIRC I actually preferred playing Claire-A-Leon-B though... but I think that's because I liked Leon's weapon loadout better, and B is harder.

I honestly played that game to death because for like 6 months after I got my PSX, the only games I owned for it were Resi 2 and Tekken 3 :joker:. The only game in the series I played more was 4.

Played it! Had several minor heart attacks, but got through! My thoughts:

Not here for them moving the Licker, that moment is an iconic piece of gaming history and should have been preserved :hmph:.

Its intro was the same, with it crawling past a window and then dropping down later in the corridor, just in a different part of the building.

No! It should be the first room on the left, past the equipment chest, through the next door, round the corner and there he is. I'm not having it any other way.

I will be sad if there is no auto aim, I find that with no auto aim I concerntrait on the controls more than the atmosphere of the game. Wouldn't even mind an auto aim that locks on the body and you can drift the aim to the head

Depending on how much you wanna know:

The demo was sensational, I don't think it was scary (not a lot scares me anymore) but it's insanely tense. The atmosphere is fantastic.

I think like how they twisted the dog corridor in REmake, I love what they've done with the Licker here because I spent the last few minutes of the demo with shredded nerves as I didn't have a clue when to expect the licker to appear. I still don't have a clue and I can only imagine that it's true introduction will probably be one of the few occasions this game will succeed in making me jump out of my skin.

Can't wait.

I've played Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 probably 100 hours each. I enjoyed 7 also.

That's probably why they changed it up - Old People(tm) will be on edge because they don't know where the Licker is, and people who've not played the original or seen a Let's Play won't know a change has been made.

You know what I've realised what's quite interesting? They've not shown any gameplay of the opening yet, all the gameplay footage released has been of the police station and the sewer but basically nothing of the city. Given how intense the Police Station is, I'm really interested in seeing what that initial dash to the police station will be like.
