Bolton are more on par with teams like us and teams like Reading, Ipswich, and Forest. And to change the topic to the Blues for a second, I was happy with our performance yesterday as we actually showed some fight and some actual goalscoring ability, if Trueman stays in goal and grows a bit of confidence as the season goes along we might be able to push into a top 12 position, but it's best not to get my hopes up too much yet as it's still so early, but I think that we're dark horses going forward if we can keep playing like that going forward. |
Lampard getting spanked my the old master Bielsa.

Two days to go until we face Swansea.
My prediction is that we'll win 1-0 |
Not West Brom destroying QPR

And after that result against Bolton I think that the attention has to be taken away from the players and the Manager at this point and we have to start criticising Trillion Trophy Asia, ever since they've took charge of us and sacked Rowett we have just gone on a downhill spiral.
I really feel sorry for Monk as he hasn't been given a fair chance with this Embargo put on the club, and the players that are currently there can't help not being good enough, where as the owners can help being financially secure and making sure that they hire decent Managers for the club which they seem to have failed at on every occasion, they need to leave if this great club can be restored back to it's workhorse standards once again. |

I apologize for turning this thread into a Blues discussion thread, but these owners have been bothering me for two and a bit seasons now and they are ruining a great club imo with a proud history of a never say die attitude and it's slowly going away as the club and us fans are facing humiliation. |
We did it!

I clearly see that the Referee is not just colourblind to give Aston Villa a goal kick instead of a corner kick to us, he also spots a foul on Tammy Abraham from Michael Morrison in the penalty area just after Abraham had shoved Morrison away from the ball.
Incompetence doesn't even describe the Referee today, a definite suspension is in order for him imo for not officiating one of the biggest games of the Championship season properly, I mean being fair Kieftenbeld was lucky to have stayed on the pitch as well with his constant mis-timed tackles. The Referee didn't know what he was doing. Having said all of that though, we were ropey today defensively and I'd say that the Hutton goal was virtually unstoppable unless you wanted one of your players to possibly get sent off. |

I want to discuss my opinion on today's game in the most fair way that I possibly can (away from the Grealish stuff as I've already discussed that on it's own thread) so anyway here it goes.
Blues were woeful, really truly woeful, we once again froze against Aston Villa who they themselves weren't amazing, we took until Craig Gardner came on of all people to start creating chances for ourselves which by the time we started to do that the game was nearly over, a real opportunity wasted there to try and get into the play-offs imo. Now the things that were out of Blues control. 1. We should've had a penalty as Hause (I think that's his name anyway) pulls on Adams in the penalty area and stops him from scoring, admittedly Adams went down a bit easily, but at least one of the Referee, Linesman, or the Fourth Official should've noticed the foul on Adams, if VAR was in use it would've been 1-1 today. 2. Villa should've gone down to 9 men at least after the constant elbowing of Jutkiewicz at the side of his head, I am honestly amazed that the Referee didn't get at least one red card out for such barbaric challenges on one player. 3. The slightest touch on one of Abraham and Grealish and they'd go down to the floor like they were dying, again the Referee didn't do his job and book them for diving. 4. Sky Sports should rename itself the Villa Channel as they were not impartial from the first whistle, absolutely disgraceful coverage. |

The slightest touch on one of their players and they'd be given a free kick and the player would pretend to be hurt for minutes at a time, whilst Adams gets Rugby tackled just outside the penalty area and the Referee doesn't give anything. Tbf unlike the Villa game I do think we'd have lost last nights game regardless, but it would be nice to not be facing 12 men every week. |
The first weekend in awhile where the Referee didn't do anything absurd against us and guess what? We won! It shows you what we can do when there's proper officiating at our games.
And I hope that Kieftenbeld will be okay as that injury looks very serious to me. |
It's sad to see Ipswich go down, but sadly throughout the season they've just not been good enough, tbh though I wasn't entirely sure on either Manager that they hired throughout the season for them.
Hopefully justice will prevail for us though after how we've been treated throughout the season by the Referees and the EFL who I'll hold both of them responsible if we get relegated at the end of the season. |
Ipswich ending a run of 17 Championship seasons to drop into a division they have not been in since 1957
|
Do you think that they will come straight back up?
I know that it's too early to say, but just do you have a hunch that they could go up on the first attempt Adam? |
Absolute scenes as Tranmere ger promoted with a goal on 128 mins

Congratulations to Charlton and Tranmere fans on your promotions.
I am tbh quite bitter at the Villa promotion due to the favourtism that the Referees and Sky Sports have shown them all season, it wasn't earned imo. |
That result yesterday showed me three things about the Blues team that I had been suspecting for awhile.
1. Our owners truly are useless, not only do they sack every Manager at the club, but they're now keeping around a Manager that can't even earn us draws. They don't invest in the club properly and have also in the past seen us get docked points. The sooner that they go the better. 2. Clotet needs to change to how we played last season, but is stubbornly sticking to tactics that have seen us concede 22 goals in our last 10 matches, and god knows how many we will concede by the time he gets sacked. If he can't do it at Oxford then he was never gonna succeed with us. It's harsh but it's also the truth. In fact I feel sorry for him because the owners are using him as a scapegoat for their own incompetence. 3. The players are clearly tanking matches, I was suspicious when Hull and QPR were demolishing us, but I honestly don't believe that if our players were trying (and weren't trying to get Diet Pep the sack) that Wigan would be anywhere near our level, I mean I know that we're not an amazing team by any means, but none of those Wigan players would even make our bench, yet we're losing to them at home? Whoever the ringleaders are should be sent packing imo as they'll just cause trouble for the next Manager that comes in. Btw I mean no disrespect to Wigan or Oxford (hell I respect Wigan trying to underdog their way to survival) I just don't respect ourselves to be punching below our weight and losing to teams that we shouldn't be losing to, especially in the manner that we're losing the games too. I can't even pity the team like I did last season, we deserve to be down there this season, it's the teams around us like Wigan, Charlton, and Luton that I'll pity more due to either not being good enough to survive, or in Charlton's case being dogged by a **** ton of injuries. |
Let's all laugh at Cheltenham who have just lost 3-0 at home to Northampton to go out of the play offs after winning the first leg 2-0 :joker:

Tbf to Cheltenham they've had a strong season so they shouldn't feel to disheartened. An extraordinary turn around for Northampton though. |
Congratulations to any Northampton fans on here on your team earning promotion to League One.
And in about 12 hours we'll hopefully extend our 7 point lead over Huddersfield to 10 to avoid relegation this season.:fc: |
We got hammered against Huddersfield.:joker:
We're really in **** street if we can't even come close to beating the easiest team that we've faced since the restart. |
Well done to Stoke yesterday, they completely outclassed us in every way imaginable and actually fought for their place in the League, as will Charlton in the next game.
We however just pass, pass, pass, and then more passing until we lose the ball and leave Camp all on his own to try and save us. |
