Ryan telling a POC they can’t talk about race
And that it doesn’t matter... Feel like this needs it be discussed more
what an ignorant twat |
Using the phrase “the brown card” was disturbing
|
If it was someone who wasn't loved they would be attacked
|
Yeah...wtf
|
awful
it was kind of uncomfortable to watch tbh |
I would be pissed off too if he always bloody brought it up for no reason
|
yeah i kinda went off him a bit just then
such a shame because i was really starting to like him a lot |
Yeah very out of order
Hardeep was just looking to discuss the perfectly valid topic of racism in football. Apparently that's off limits to talk about because Ryan doesn't like it :umm2: |
The way he worded it was bizarre, but uh I don’t think it was bad intended

I’m assuming race impacts Hardeep’s life on almost a daily basis so he has the right to discuss whenever he wants

It explains his friendship with sally.
|
Isn't he mixed race himself though? But yeah either way he shouldn't be telling anyone not to talk about it

Him & Dan going in on him over it was tough to watch and I can't stand him :umm2:

No, wait, i don't give a **** about Ryan, he was right, brown, white, black, WE ARE ALL HUMANS! Stop bringing up race when it's not needed.
We are HUMAN BEINGS. Isn't this attitude what we strive for? |

He's a bit of a bellend tbh, he's just winning due to the OTT reaction to Roxanne.

I've been told before that I'm not allowed to talk about it. So I feel Hardeep's pain.
|
He wasn’t even like “using the race card” he was talking about race in football
That’s just the same as like talking about women in politics which was talked about a lot last season and no one was accused of using the women card |
He wasn't bringing race into everything though, he was asking Jermaine as a black player about his experience of racism in football. What's wrong with that? It's a pretty well discussed topic
|
Apparently he does it all the time
Also he said Ryan couldn’t tak about it bc white (when like no and also he’s not) |
The point of progression is to not factor in race, colour. In order to move forward we need to see past this. Every race, every Religion.
Problem is, we can't get past race, when race stops being a big deal, race will stop being a big deal. Think about that for a moment. |
Race won’t stop being a big deal when people stop talking about it though, or even when people “use the race card”
It will stop being a big deal when racism no longer exists |
It’s more just living in a house with someone that brings up the race card 24/7 not racism as a topic

Also yeah hardeep is one of those peolle that comes on so strong with their political opinions and I couldn’t stand living with that. Like god how pushy he was with his convo with kirstie early in the series
|
Ryan probably means this:
Interviewer: How we gonna get rid of racism? Morgan Freeman: Stop talking about it! I'm gonna stop calling you 'a white man' and i'm gonna ask you to stop calling me 'a black man'. I know you as Mike Wallace, you know me as Morgan Freeman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2d2SzRZvsQ Basically - seeing people as individuals, not as categories. That is what non-racism looks like. |

Not forgetting that Ryan will have come across this issue in his own life. |
