17 apparent migrants – 14 men and three children
– claiming to be Iranian after a fishing boat,
reportedly stolen in France,
arrived in Dover overnight.]

Turn them back around then? It doesn't matter if they're Iranian or not, France is a safe country, they have no reason to illegally break into the UK from there.

What I never understand is why they go to Dover rather than a more obscure port, if you want to sneak into a party, you go through the side gate rather than knocking on the front door surely?

The French and the Brits need to tighten up patrols for sure. However, these are illegal immigrants, it doesn't exclude them from compassion. That's the major problem I have with those complaining.

Take a look at Trump and how he blamed the death of 2 immigrant children on the democrats rather than showing an iota of compassion at this time of year.

As ever Brillo, the issue isn't your political stance, it's the disgust and contempt you radiate whilst expressing it. If you don't see that by now then I'm sure you never will. However, this whole thread is giving me 2017-de ja vu and we're almost in 2019 so let's just not.

You and I we argued but also had some civilized exchanges so I can't tell you from my own experience, just repeating what I read at the time (wasn't there a thread about you leaving?). It was confirmed you asked for a perma, but also Vicky said you were close to perma due to your infractions etc.
