Next Friday at Morrison’s!

Crimson Dynamo 12-12-2018 11:31 AM

we are going on sat to buy stuff in bulk as its double discount, i expect the food will be next weekend - drink is all bought. Tonight the laptop will be coming out as we are scheduled to discuss next weekends food strategy and no doubt the TL's "Christmas planning book" will be coming out too

I am aiming to be 4 fingers into a large Monkey Shoulder to ease this process along

bloody hell, sounds a bit like a military procedure how many people you hosting....:omgno:

Twosugars 13-12-2018 12:04 PM

chocs and nibbles have been gethering in a special Christmas cache (do not touch until 24th) for a while now, booze bought except can't decide if it's a sherry year or a port year so that's to be decided
goose this year, already sitting in the freezer, Christmas pud courtesy of my oh's mum
next week the rest will be bought including a dash to a Polish shop for Polish grub and chocs, but will make my own poppyseed cake
breads from a local bakery on 24th

she jingled about all morning as she was getting ready

What do you mean a sherry or Port year? It:s Christmas! get them both down your gullet. Enjoy yourself!

Crimson Dynamo 13-12-2018 12:22 PM

I had a cheeky Vermouth last night as it goes. Todays drink advent calendar was a miniature of Teachers.

got most of other types of booze tbh, but we've developed this tradition, the same like we decide on a Xmas day bird (and sometimes it's not a bird) we decide to have either port or sherry; it's fun :hee:

I vote Port, nothing like a nice hot port over the festive period

Twosugars 13-12-2018 12:29 PM

your vote has been counted, Niamh :)

Niamh. 13-12-2018 12:29 PM

Thank you :hee:

Has to be snowballs at Christmas; Advocat, lemonade, and a splash of lime juice.

Crimson Dynamo 13-12-2018 12:38 PM

this is what you want after a big Christmas dinner and it goes well with a Cuban cigar

neem i hope Gav will be getting this in his stocking?

:suspect:

Niamh. 13-12-2018 01:02 PM

Gav hates whiskey. I'm glad you've abandoned the Scottish Whiskey for an Irish one though LT :smug:

You know us Irish always adding in extra vowels wherever we can :hehe:

DrunkerThanMoses 13-12-2018 01:21 PM

Did it Tuesday as only day I am off work all day until next Friday and no way I am going to town on the 21st of December.... And got it in morrisons. Collected stamps all year worth 50 quids and had a more voucher for 24 pounds so spent nothing

Marsh. 13-12-2018 02:53 PM

A normal food shop will commence the week before Christmas.

I abhor people who stock up on 12 of everything as though there's a famine. :nono:

The shops are closed ONE DAY, and even then a lot of the local convenience stores, especially ones ran by people who don't celebrate Christmas, decide to open on Christmas Day.

Barry. 13-12-2018 03:07 PM

I think we get the drinks this weekend then the big shop in the 23rd.

Crimson Dynamo 13-12-2018 04:42 PM

I went into Tesco just there to get the CHristmas Spectator as a gift for myself (which i have already wrapped and put under tree so i wont be tempted to read) and a box of Isla Negra and I swear i could feel a touch of hysteria in the air from shoppers
