The Umbrella Academy (On Netflix, February 15th)
Oh I've been intrigued about this for a while. And more Tom Hopper on TV is definitely appreciated!
At first I was disappointed that it wasn't a Resident Evil spinoff, but it looks really good!
Looks interesting
Why do they seem to be different ages though if they were all born on the same day?
The only opinion I've formed so far is that Diego is sexy
I've enjoyed the first two episodes but I accidentally read a spoiler. Although IMO a fairly obvious one.
Spoiler: The choreography and effects are good, though, so it's well worth a watch. The scene with |
The dancing in the moonlight scene  the soundtrack for this show slaps
So I'm nearly finished this and have very much enjoyed it but I had to pause for a second just to come on and say that Robert Sheehan - whilst I think he generally plays the role brilliantly - has a seriously awful American accent. Really, properly old-school bad that you just don't see much on TV these days. It's been pretty terrible all the way through but I'm on the last couple of episodes now and it's descended to the point where, when it is American, it sounds like a school kid's version of an American accent... and I say "when it is American" because half the time it just goes full blown Irish at this point :joker:.
Just finished the season and honestly the finale knocked it out of the park :clap2:
They clearly spent like 90% of the effects budget on the last two episodes though :joker:. |
I really loved it although.....
Spoiler: That being said though, I thought it was great. It starts off slow but it really soars in those last few episodes, can't wait for Season 2. |
I'm enjoying it, halfway through episode 8.
Spoiler: I'm really enjoying the soundtrack, too. - "This Year's Love" by David Gray - "In the Heat of the Moment" by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - "Exit Music (For a Film)" by Radiohead - "Dancing in the Moonlight" by Toploader - "Run Boy Run" by Woodkid - "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany probably more I've forgotten too, but I wish they'd used the INXS version over Paloma's 'Never Tear Us Apart' :oh: |
the ending pissed me off so much like wth was that all about
in other news Mary J Blige did what she had to do. I never knew she could act. In fact for ages I was watching thinking, that lady who plays cha cha is an awful lot like mary j blige
I don't like the way (geddit, way, lik Gerard) it ended with a cliffhanger, but it was great!
Spoiler: |
Just finished this and love it
Spoiler: |
Also I hate how Five has no name
It's hilarious how often Mary J Blige randomly pops up in sh*t. She showed up randomly in an episode of How to Get Away with Murder too. :joker:
Finished it not long after my other post and yeah... not something I'll be itching to see a season two of. Nice styling but just a really frustrating story with too many plotholes.
Just finished and I really enjoyed it. I had no idea what to expect when I started, so I had no expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole series! Much better than any of the Marvel or DC TV series in general story line, acting and script. Loved 90% of the soundtrack. Sure it wasn't perfect but I'm definitely signed up for series two.

I'm looking forward to it.
Its now on Netflix and I'm about to start to watch it
I've watched the first 5 episodes of season 2 so far and I'm just not feeling it compared to season 1.
The plot feels like a retread of season 1 just in the 60's this time, and certain sub plots feel like complete and utter filler (Luther's being the prime example) the humour in the season is strong and I still like some of the characters, but I'm desperately waiting for something in the season to peak my interest like the Vanya and Leonard dynamic did for me in season 1. |

Finished it. Very confused, mildly entertained, a bit exhausted with this show's meaningless creative license.
I watched both seasons back to back and the second one doesn’t hold a candle to the first. It became so ****ing stupid.
I literally hated Lila every moment she was on screen, and completely agree with Shaun regarding the Handler. I normally like camp female villains but this one was so one-note and basic. No doubt she’ll be back for S3 after surviving yet another shooting, lmao. I missed Mary J’s basic-ass acting and the donut lady...and Hazel, tbh. I think S2 made me realise how much I enjoyed them, tbh. |
Also, Ellen Page is far-and-away the best actress on the show. The others pale in comparison.
