Going to t’cinema on your own

Ah see a tweet about it today and was wondering what do you think? Is it sad or do you not mind it?

Denver 12-06-2019 03:34 PM

Its sad

Moniqua 12-06-2019 03:35 PM

ah suppose it depends on t'movie sis :idc:

Niamh. 12-06-2019 03:35 PM

Nothing wrong with it at all, I mean it's just sitting watching a film, I would like more people to go on their own actually, might stop people talking and being annoying during the film

That.

Liam- 12-06-2019 03:36 PM

My first thought is that it’s sad, but thinking about it, who’s gonna know you’re on your own? It’s a dark cinema and people are, or should be, paying attention to the film so I don’t see the problem with it

Calderyon 12-06-2019 03:36 PM

OK, have fun.

Pretty much this.

It would be more sad to not go and see a film because you care what other people think and you need someone to hold your hand while you sit in the dark and watch a screen :hee:

Vanessa 12-06-2019 03:38 PM

I prefer going on my own. No annoying chit chat during the movie

This

I usd to go on my own regularly and really enjoyed doing so. Didn't bother me to be solo. There were quite a few others on their own too I remember. If people think its sad then I guess I must be sad

Strictly Jake 12-06-2019 03:47 PM

Never done it and I don't think I could be bothered to do it but I don't see a problem with it either

Black Dagger 12-06-2019 03:51 PM

Used to go every weekend with Anthony bc we had cinema cards. When we split I kept mine and have been a couple of times on my own.

thisisdanny 12-06-2019 03:51 PM

I wouldn’t really do it myself but then I don’t really go to the cinema, I don’t see it being a huge problem though. Each to their own

Epic. 12-06-2019 03:55 PM

I don't think I'd do it but I'm not gonna bat an eyelid at anyone who does

Firewire 12-06-2019 03:56 PM

I don't see anything wrong with it.

I personally haven't gone on my own, not sure why. I guess I just haven't really been eager to see anything recently. Although I might go and see Rocketman on Monday as Vue do cheap tickets on Mondays.

I went to the theatre on my own though a few weeks ago and I enjoyed it.

Pretty much!

You're not really sociable because you're both watching the screen and staying silent. I hate people who talk during movies it's inconsiderate. So it doesn't really matter if you have someone next to you or not.

I mostly go with friends but i have been on my own because I couldn't wait a week until my friends are free to watch End Game and none of my friends are into horror and i really wanted to watch Halloween last year  it was soo nice being on my own though, my friends like to ask me stuff and it's kinda annoying, i just want to watch the film in peace

If you REALLY want to watch the film and no one wants to see it then go for it Sle. Odeon says enjoy with your friends, family and even on your own. Many people do it.

I actually think that there is something empowering about getting out and doing things you want to do on your own

Underscore 12-06-2019 04:03 PM

who's gonna watch your coke and mixed popcorn when you go t'loo?

My pockets, the same things that brought them in.

Not you settling down to watch X Men as though you're seated upon the Iron Throne.

Lostie! 12-06-2019 04:46 PM

I haven't but I don't think it's sad at all.

JerseyWins 12-06-2019 05:00 PM

This might be one of those threads I’ve seen the most times on here

I haven’t done it but I don’t see the issue.

caprimint 12-06-2019 05:13 PM

I don't go to the cinema, but if I wanted to see a movie then of course I'd go alone. Why would you care what anybody else thinks anyway?

Tom4784 12-06-2019 05:26 PM

I prefer going with people so you can talk about it afterwards but I've gone on my own for films that my friends aren't typically interested in. I think the last films I saw on my own were Isle of Dogs and Love, Simon.

Amy Jade 12-06-2019 06:15 PM

I don't like going on my own, I like someone to talk about it with after but nothing wrong with going on your own at all.

This is kinda random but once I accidentally booked the disabled seats which are up a lift and you go down a narrow corridoor and into a closed off box with 2 seats and it was just me and my boyfriend watching a horror (iirc The Nun) and he went the toilet and I was ****ting myself all on my own so I'd be scared to see a horror on my own!

Matthew. 12-06-2019 06:24 PM

I haven’t done it before but I wouldn’t say it’s sad, no

Cal. 12-06-2019 06:24 PM

I’d be far too self conscious omg

Just call me Bran the Broken [emoji16]

GoldHeart 12-06-2019 06:40 PM

It's literally sitting in the dark watching a movie, nothing wrong with going on your own if there's something you want to see . they'll always be some other people going on their own .

sleleen 12-06-2019 06:43 PM

I wouldn’t care sitting there on my once you get there but all the queuing up and if you see someone etc would be so awkward

What about booking online?

Crimson Dynamo 12-06-2019 07:15 PM

Sad

Vanessa 12-06-2019 07:22 PM

With my taste in movies not many people want to come with me. I love horror movies :joker:

Underscore 12-06-2019 07:38 PM

It's like people who think it's weird to go to a restaurant on your own

You know, take control of your life! Live it! Do what you want, find new experiences bcos you never know whats round the corner

New Italian restaurant round the corner? Visit it! Don't wait for the opportunity to pass you by

Niamh. 12-06-2019 07:39 PM

Well said Underscore
