The houseguests talk about all the precious evicted houseguests - it’s normal they have nothing to do except talk in that house.

the purpose of the thread is them continuing to talk about kemi on a near daily basis and thinking she’s sat at home pressed when she’s not, they don’t talk about any other ex houseguest almost nearly as much as ha, it’s weird

and it’s one thing to talk about past housemates, but kemi showed not one slight resembelnce to bayleigh, she remained calm and nevha raised her voice, so t’assumption she’s sat at home acting like that is clearly based off of one thing

Bayleigh screamed/raised her voice often and he’s just saying she probably is doing the same at the television. He’s not said they are the same, maybe she is screaming at the television, maybe Bella/Sam/David/Ovi are also? Maybe they’re not. It’s just speculation nothing bad

Jess, Nick, and Christie all acknowledge in that very clip that Kemi is living rent free in all of their heads. And I know it's part of your shtick but if it really needs to be explained why it's problematic and not at good look at the very least to be comparing two black girls whose personalities are not really similar, then there's no hope.

On the other hand, I sadly don't think this is part of your shtick so: the "joke" doesn't exactly land when you're compare two HGs who really don't have much in common other than being black girls. If we need any reminding, this is literally a page from the Aaryn Gries Textbook of Racism. And if that's too much of a harsh buzzword for you then at least call a spade a spade and admit there's some clear unconscious bias since this is not the first time HGs have speculated upon Kemi being the Angry Black Woman behind closed doors.

He wasn't comparing the two just because he referred to her bleeding from the mouth like Bayleigh, he was moreso contrasting the two in his comments. They were imagining what she's like outside the show and he acknowledged she was was quiet in the house so he imagined her basically being the opposite: like Bayleigh when she's watching the show at home now. It's like a funny thing to picture... like something you wouldn't expect to see from someone who's quiet. You can assume there's racist connotations or bias or something there but it was Bayleigh's behavior being the opposite as Kemi's that was the key there. Just because their skin color is the same doesn't automatically mean anything.

The context was very clearly light-hearted (not mean-spirited, not in a negative tone, not demeaning her) regardless of what you think of it involving race anyway. :shrug:

Honestly not too aware of this. I do remember David randomly getting compared to Swaggy C though who he was nothing like (and maybe there was a Kemi/Bayleigh comparison at the time that I'm not remembering) but I would say that could include some subconscious bias there. I wouldn't go with that being outright racist either but I can see people subconsciously making comparisons and assumptions about them from their skin color which is wrong though and something they should think more about in that case. :idc:

In this particular case, it could just as easily have NOTHING to do with skin color based on the entire context there.

It literally is an innocent comment though - it’s like comparing a hamburger and a piece of fruit and finding offence

"He wasn't comparing, he was contrasting" is a particularly banal and egregious response because, again, the heart of the concern is that it was even done in the first place and that there's *still* speculation a full six weeks later about who The Real Kemi is behind closed doors. Her entire stint in the house consisted of the vast majority of the house waiting for her to blow up and snap and ~show her true colors~, and when she hasn't given them what they wanted they're still speculating and holding onto the possibility as to what she's really like on the outside. Like, no one's wondered who the real Bella is or who the real Sam is but some of them are still holding onto the hope that Kemi's secretly the angry black woman, probably as means to justify their feelings about her. Whether or not you want to call it racism, let's call a spade a spade and recognize the clear unconscious bias and stereotyping.

I am no Bayleigh fan, but this isn’t true. Bayleigh was not aggressive. Nobody was aggressive last season from what I remember. Iirc, she raised her voice like once? If that makes someone aggressive then idk anymore. I take it that means Nick and Jack are also aggressive then, seeing as Nick shouted at Christie last night, and Jack, well, less said about him the better tbqh :idc:

Exactly. Like I said, I wasn’t a fan of Bayleigh at all, but to dismiss her as “aggressive” based on one incident in which she lost her temper (and like you said, while she was pregnant) is uncalled for.
