[You will still be able to use the
paper £20 note until we withdraw it
from circulation. We will announce the
withdrawal date after we have
issued our new polymer £20 note.
We will give six months’ notice
of this withdrawal date.]

Queen needs updating, this is an old portrait

7 days time
Thursday 20th of this month
the New £20 plastic note is out.

[You’ll still be able to use the old paper £20 note
until it’s withdrawn
from circulation - you’ll be given
six months’ notice of this date,
so nothing will be changing overnight.

If you find yourself in possession of a paper note that’s
no longer accepted, you’ll always be able to
exchange your paper notes for a new plastic note at a bank.]

[The new £20 notes will come into
circulation on February 20, 2020
and will eventually replace the
current £20 notes we use.
They will be made from a plastic polymer
like the new £5 and £10 denominations,
which is said to be more durable,
cleaner and secure than paper]

So is the £20 note the last of the paper notes to make this switch to plastic?

Ah right thanks Arista

It’s kinda sad seeing all the notes being switched to plastic, I much prefer the paper style. I kept a £5 paper note just for nostalgia (and cause it was like brand new) :hehe:

As an almost vegan I find this sick..if the £5 and £10 notes ain't suckling enough fat from animals they are now doing it with the £20 and then the £50

Hang your head in shame if you use these weapons of murder.

I won't be using them as an almost vegan myself.

Is that true? It's definitely going to be Turing?

Couldn't wait, Googled it....

I am SO happy about this. He was such a hero and was treated so appallingly. I always said he should have a statue on Trafalgar Square's empty plinth.

Saph 20-02-2020 12:07 PM

cute that they released it on 20/02/2020

Man City fans moaning about being disrespected, when the country has given them their own bank note.
