All French leagues ended after live sport banned till September
I'm surprise they took that decision when the governments of UK, Italy, Spain and Germany all want the live sports to restart asap
|
France Cancels Football Season
|
The British Government have said they want live sport to restart asap
|
Also PSG and Lyon have to pull out of European football
|
uefa cant wave a big stick around if everyone cancels. It's going to happen in most countries I think

If the PL cancels dispute the PM wanting it to return at least half the teams will have to sue them |
Liverpool are Freck

Some things are more important than football

each league will get financial support too by them so premier league doesn't have to be finished, and struggling teams can still get financial support (that is what UEFA hints at using the 4,3 millions for) |

the teams who can survive great, those who don't will be victims of the coronacrisis and we cannot blame anyone for that |

Also, UEFA are being deluded if they think there will be European football any time soon. They should count themselves lucky if they even have a tournament next season. Personally. I cancel this season and try go again in September with only domestic competitions and no Cup Replays etc. |

Also they cant afford to cancel the season |
So there goes Paris with another victory  Well, at least we finish second.
Same goes for Rugby too  But it's for the health of the people, in the end it's just sports. It will come back in September. |
Fifa's chief doctor has warned against restarting the interrupted 2019-20 campaign and suggested governing bodies prepare for action next season instead.
Michel d'Hooghe said "as a doctor" he would be "sceptical" about continuing leagues amid the coronavirus pandemic. The chair of Fifa's medical committee told BBC Sport: "My proposal is if it is possible, avoid playing competitive football in the coming weeks. "Try to be prepared for the start of good competition next season." European leagues have until 25 May to tell European governing body Uefa whether they want to complete or cancel their seasons. "There is a risk and it is not a risk that has small consequences," continued D'Hooghe. "It can have consequences of life and death and that is why I am so careful and I ask everyone to be very careful before deciding to play again. "I speak as a medical doctor, I don't have to speak as an organiser of matches, but for the moment from my medical standpoint I would be very sceptical." Belgian D'Hooghe added it would be extremely difficult to continue social distancing if football matches were to resume and believes some "hygienic rules" would have to be put in place if seasons were to continue. "How will you avoid direct contact?" he said. "That is my question. "For the moment the criteria means it is absolutely difficult to say that we can play competitive football and believe me I regret it profoundly because I am a football man. "I am a little bit afraid that to have a complete solution we will have to wait until we have a vaccination programme, but I think the time has come now to think of some hygienic rules. "For instance to avoid spitting - why do we have to see that in football and not in other sports? This is one of the things we have to consider because this is a real danger in the future." On Tuesday it was announced that the French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons will not resume. It is not yet known whether the Ligue de Football Professional (LFP) will choose to abandon the season with no promotion or relegation and no champions, or base the outcome of the campaign on current standings. The Dutch top flight was abandoned on Friday with no promotion or relegation and no champions, while on Monday Belgian clubs postponed a vote on confirming the cancellation of their top flight until next week. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52462233 It's going to be cancelled everywhere |
Then it's a genuine goodbye to the game of football
|
Tired of the 'its only sport' attitude from people saying it shouldn't come back yet within a few weeks all shops will be back open and people will be streaming into shopping centres and towns to buy clothes, get haircuts, go to Greggs, Costa etc all of which will be less safe than a football match being played behind closed doors
Get the bloody game on! |

At least in France not everything will reopen at the same time and for not all areas of the country. Not even all schools will reopen. We're a nation of people who don't like being told what to do, and I'm pretty sure we are the country who is complying with the lockdown rules in the worst way. So the government had to it. (Marseille would have never beat PSG for the title anyway lol) So really there are other priorities than that. I'm not happy about it, being a rugby player and a huge sports fan myself, but let's have a look at the bigger picture here. A football/rugby/basketball game still requires a lot of staff to be in a stadium, even when played behind closed doors. It's not just the players. Let's take the least amount of risks for everybody and it will pay off eventually, I deeply share your frustration though. |
Football is very important to the British Economy it generates a lot of tax that goes on stuff like the NHS
|
PSG have been named champions

someone said today not sure who it was that even if games are played behind closed doors fans will turn up as they did in Spain when they did this before lockdown, I think they will end the season now tbh

The season was finish on points based system of the season which determined who would finish where and who would be relegated

Like I’ve said many times. Liverpool being awarded their title is literally one of the least important things to worry about in terms of football In this country right now. |
