Does it still feel like lockdown where you live?

All in the title really, would you say people in your area are abiding by the rules or has it all gone to pot?

Marsh. 10-06-2020 11:15 AM

The only place it still feels like lockdown is the shops where they still limit the number inside and you queue up to get in.

Everywhere else... :skull:

This.

Niamh. 10-06-2020 11:20 AM

In the shops, pharmacies etc it does, oh and the fact Pubs, restaurants, gyms etc still haven't opened, that makes it feel lockdown ish but people in general are going out and about like they used to. We are allowed to travel anywhere in our own counties now though or 20Km from the house outside the county if you live on the border of another county.

Smithy 10-06-2020 11:23 AM

Everything’s (pretty much) back to normal here now cause we have 0 active cases, but we still have to queue in shops and it’s a ball ache :bored:

Cherie 10-06-2020 11:42 AM

Yes it still feels like lockdown, traffic especially after 6pm is pretty much non existent

Niamh. 10-06-2020 11:43 AM

And I've gone back to working in the office instead of home :'(

Social distancing really isn't much of a problem where I work so it's fine, I'd just kind of enjoyed being at home

Beso 10-06-2020 11:51 AM

I was going to order a ten pinter at the weekend but got paranoid that Glenn would arrive.

Crimson Dynamo 10-06-2020 12:30 PM

No as there is zero threat

bots 10-06-2020 12:31 PM

round my way i saw 2 or 3 dog walkers go past each day at the start of the lockdown, now its much more active

Oliver_W 10-06-2020 12:31 PM

Sort of. I live in the village end of my town and there are hardly any shops here, but we're also right between Kettering and Corby, so it's used as a through-way quite a bit.

One of our local pubs have been doing pints to go. Loads of the old guys who go in every lunchtime have been in bought their takeaways and sat on different benches on the green opposite having a pint and a chat. The pub has a one way system and there is only one person allowed at the bar (so the sign outside says, I've not been in).

Nicky91 10-06-2020 12:49 PM

no more lockdown here in Netherlands

but people just need to stick to 1.5 metre distance society, other than that, normal life again

armand.kay 10-06-2020 01:16 PM

i wouldn’t know i only leave the house to jog

Jessica. 10-06-2020 01:31 PM

Yes, very much so.

caprimint 10-06-2020 04:34 PM

It feels like lockdown here even when there isn't a lockdown

Tom4784 10-06-2020 04:49 PM

It's business as normal in most places it seems.

JerseyWins 10-06-2020 05:41 PM

Never technically a lockdown here but yeah things are getting a bit back to normal. Seeing more people out & slowly less people wearing masks compared to practically EVERYONE wearing one like 2 months back

Crimson Dynamo 10-06-2020 05:44 PM

I saw 2 men shake hands in Asda, 2 pals who met

As regards businesses they are apparently running at 30% capacity which means most will simply go bust before long .. they’re paying 100% of their bills and wages yet getting 30% income.

They apparently need to be running at 70% to just break even !

Worrying times ahead .

Still see about the same amount of walkers doing their exercise, can hear more cars in the distance though.
I think it’s pretty much the same locally but more people travelling to shops that are coming out of lockdown.

I've hugged 2 people and shook hands with 5..sanitised instantly after the handshakes but didnt care what happened during the hugs.

BigSister 10-06-2020 11:15 PM

went out for the first time for 12 weeks on Tuesday and the supermarket was as I thought it would be although there were still people not social distancing. Theres def more cars on the road though

Zizu 11-06-2020 12:56 AM

There was a woman from Gretna just on LBC radio saying that they’ve all just carried on with life as normal and completely disregarded all government advice / regulations.

Anyone know their stats ??

261 known cases in Dumfries and Galloway zizu..rather high for that region

Nicky91 11-06-2020 07:55 AM

supermarket update here

some of staff didn't wear gloves while handling bread

only people who did social distance (what we had seen today) are people in their 50's or 60's

so yeah you can see normal life resuming here but if that is so good, idk i'd really think sticking to social distancing, wearing gloves, face masks would still be a good precaution idea, i mean more wise would be everyone needs to adapt to 1,5 or 2 metre distance society here
